Wheel and tire question

Well, I am buying some rims this week. And I can't decide which to get...17's or 18's
2 questions.....

1. Has anyone ever regreted getting 18's (ride quality, cracked rims, tire cost)

2. Is 245/40/18 a bad or good tire size for 18's (heard it helps with the ride quality)

I love my 18's

I got 18x8 and 245/40 zr 18 with intrax and I cut off a coil off them as well take a look. I guess it is on your taste and and tires I paid 192 shipped each tire from discount tire direct, to go up to 245 is only like 9 or 12 dollars that was it price them youll see tirerack.com discounttiredirect.com or vittoriatire.com not too sure about that last web address. Performance I like my performance, great handling more cushion, no cracked wheels, see when you go to 245 you just dont gain width you gain a couple of mm on the side wall as well Ill attach this image hope you can view it. 235/40zr18 those tires are very thin and man you feel the bumps and I live in pothole heaven New Orleans, you got to call the pothole patrol if you see one to get repaired. By the way I am one picky mug for pics I like to see the darn detail if not I dont post it take care.

I regret getting 17's instead of 18s, except at the track. but even that doesnt matter now because i am getting 2 more sets of wheels, 15's for drag and another set of 17s for autoX/road race.

Initial K indiglos...No LED replacement

Camera playing tricks on ya
Nikon CoolPix Cameras increase the ambient light in night shots.
They are not as bright as they look.

Back to the original question. Which tires to buy for 18's for a better ride.

245/40/18 or 255/40/18.

Any problems with these sizes?

Yes they have a bit more cushion then the 235/40 and 235/40 they look small as hell. Like I said before with 245 you not only gain width you gain a bit of side wall as well. I wouldnt lie it looks nice. take care

No regrets at all. Very happy with the 18's. Tires are 225/40. thats because my rims are 7.5 inches wide. Will probably go with 235/40 next time around.
