I want a muscle car sound like a V8 what the best exhaust options to achieve that? I hate to hear those Hondas that sound like loud go-carts..

Pop-charger is real loud at WOT. For exhaust just get some cheap muffler but not one with a 4+" tip. hehe

Agreed, yeah I know why v8's sound the way they do. I just want more of a muscle sound, a little growl from my max, I don't want to inpersonate a v8..

Cattman has an Edelbrock RPM muffler on his Maxima, contact him. Perhaps his set up is deeper than the normal Maxima exhaust system.

Mine sounds like a rustang GT. It sounds like a V8 until about 3500 rpm. PR CAI, Stillen Y, RT cat, 3" custom DUAL cat-back. Do what I did and you will be pleased.

the first thing i changed on my exhaust was the stock muffler. i had the stillen ss muffler with just a stock exhaust(just for the look really). it did give the car a nice deep tone, nothing like it sounds now with the rest of the pipes done. while driving it gave a deep humm.. v8'ish sound, but not loud..

Uh.. you have have heard V8s w/ just mufflers right? That deep badass sound is what you are trying to achieve correct? Well with a V6, it ain't gonna happen.

You guys always ice skate uphill?

It is as small as it will ever get. I try to only post it once per page on each thread...although sometimes I forget to click it off...

Their are a few in the 12's. A bunch in the 13's. All on stock internals.

Check my web page for my mods and other info.

it's all in the firing order of the V8's even the LT1 and the LS1 sound different because of the firing order.

I've driven a TL Type-S before, and as most of you know, it's a V6. The Type-S has mufflers that have 30% higher flow than the base TL, and from outside, even at low speeds, sounds a lot like any other car.
But from inside the engine has a nice burble, a lot like a V8 from inside. It didn't ahve the low-end torque of one, but it sounded a LOT like a V8.

Yea, see people. I bet with some kind of aftermarket muffler, and a y-pipe, you should sound nice and deep.

MANNN, my friend just got his Ford Lightning. That thing sounds like a ****ed off dragon when he revs it.

They sound great with the Comptech exhaust. Much better than silent stock sound. Factory supported mods... we can only dream.

How about making your Max sound like a Ferrari V8?

Stock F355/360 Modena exhaust: $3500 from the dealer
Ferrari variable intake box: About the same
Ferrari valves: Who knows?
Ferrari valvetrain: Probably $5000
Ferrari F1 Gearbox: $8,000 (Before they install it...)
