New Price For Osram Hid Kit

after a 2hr meeting with my importer tonight, the osram hid kit for maxima.org members has a new lower price.

if you can pick-up the hid kit at the store (AUDIO LINKS in new jersey) the new price is $409.

if you need them shipped the new price is $425 with shipping and insurance. u.s. only.

i would like to thank all maxima.org members that already got the osram kits from me. because of you and my store is why we have a new lower price on the osram kit. thank you.

with this new price it is easy to say it's the best kit for the money.

You got any pics of what the HID kit looks like at night?

Question... Are the bulbs D2R or D2S?

dmbmaxima2k2 Oct 13, 2001 05:25 AM

can you get the HID's to fit the high beams of the 2k2 maxima headlights. i've been thinking about running HID's for both. that would look hot, then maybe fog lights too. you have those sizes????

i'm very sorry but as you all know as time goes by prices will change and i have been trying for a long time for this price break.

once again i would like to thank all maxima.org members that have gotten the hid from me in the past. because of you and my very small store is the reason we got the new prices. as you all know i only sell the hid kit here and at my store.

have trouble seeing at night? LOL! I'm seeing things that I had never seen in the past... Miss their highbeams? well, I drive 80miles a day to/from work... all back roads w/no overhead lighting what-so-ever and i can't say that I yet miss my "highs"... the only time that i would have wanted to use them was to "flash" someone out of the way, but with the HIDs, you can "flick" the stem that the headlight switch is on, and the lights will flash... so, to answer your question... no, i don't miss them...
.....the light output on these things surpass any ideas that I could even fathom that they would... as for the color, they are a deep purple/blue when you immediately turn them on and roughly 30sec. later are a PURE white... when you look at them from less than a block away, they are WHITE WHITE WHITE... NO color at all, but from about more than a block away, they have a purplish/white hue... and look a lot like the new Mercedes... In fact, my fiance thought i was some expensive car coming to pick her up a few days ago :goofy: ... i've seen the new acura HIDs, but not the new 2002 maximas,
regardless, good luck w/your choice and feel free to ask w/any questions... I know I asked about a million before I bought them.. right Freddie? :D

can anyone else make that comparision w/ the Osram, 2002 Max HIDs?

well the reason i bothered to ask was because many are talking about the beam pattern, and considering the difference in the orientation of the 9004 filament and how the reflector is manufactured to project it best...then adding HIDs in which the light source is oriented differently...well, my point is, anybody have trouble with the cops?

Re: New Price For Osram Hid Kit

Will this kit fit a 96 Maxima?
Heard there is a problem with beam pattern.

understandable... understandable... as for the beam pattern, i'm NOT sure how the pattern is on a I30, but as for Maximas 97-99, the pattern is PERFECT... the bulb itself has a covering on parts of it which in turn shield some of the light to compensate for the fact that WE have a reflector housing... i've heard that the housing for 96-under distorts the beam a little, but that's just something that i heard through the "grapevine"... I didn't really check into that as i have a '97... I personally have NEVER had problems w/the police whatsoever... i aimed my lights down just a little.. a TINY bit, but that was becuase when i originally mounted the bulbs, a few people were flashing me everyonce in a while, but now that i angled them down a little (i can't even tell from the drivers seat) i have had no problems w/others thinking my lights are "blinding"... that was one of my main concerns when buying these... ALSO, the maxima is a sophisticated enough looking car that w/o HIDs that most people (i would assume) wouldn't know the difference if they came with HIDs stock anyways... (just my $.02)... anyways, as for the beam pattern w/I30's you may want to contact "emax"... I know he has an I30 and put the Osram HIDs in both his headlight fixture and fog fixture... he may be able to give you a first hand opinion/perspective as this applies to your ride... from what i've read of his posts though, he has had NO problem... try getting a hold of him...

I just spoke w/Freddie '97gles' at AudioLinks who sells the Osram Kit, he mentioned to me that his WEBTV link where he gets on the .org will be down for a little while (could be more than a wk.), so he asked me to post this message to refer anyone who has any questions about the OSRAM kit to call him at; (201)-420-6792 (AudioLinks) Therefore, anyone who has sent him PM's that haven't gotten a response, that's why. He apologized.

Stillen_I30 Oct 15, 2001 01:08 PM

thanks for the response. I talked to emax95 about the hids a long time ago. He has the housings from the japanese cefiro (I30), so his bulbs are H4, adn the pattern is supposedly much more correct than 9004. hey emax, when ARE you giong to sell me them!!?

...with the H4 bulb. Any HID conversion will distort the beam pattern, H4 or 9004. If you are serious about improving your lighting situation, then listen up. You are extremely lucky to be the owner of an I30. Buy the JDM spec H4 headlamps and a pair of Philips VisionPlus or BlueVisions bulbs. Save the $400 you were planning on spending for that Godforsaken HID conversion kit and take your GF on a nice weekend trip to CapeCod (if you live in the NE) or to the Napa Velley (if you're a Leftcoaster).
