Quick Q-PO136

i was driving really fast on the freeway last week (100mph) and i noticed that my SES light came on, i checked it out and i got the po136 (oxygen sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 2) i know its the rear sensor and how to replace it but, i was wondering if maybe something got disconected while i was hauling *** which i can fix without replacing the oxygen sensor... any advice?

I doubt b/c you were going fast the sensor would pop out. There are miles and miles of rust that will keep the sensor in. It's dead. Take a peek under there just to be sure.

TSB: 98-099 12/01/1998 MIL ON - DTC P0136 (Rear Oxygen Sensor)
Classification:
E098-027

Reference:
NTB98-099

Date:
December 1, 1998

If an applied 1995-96 Altima or Maxima has the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) "ON" and a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0136 (rear oxygen sensor) is found stored in the ECM self diagnosis memory, the sensor element may be contaminated.

There are alot of things to cause the code. I would save time and money and just start with an 02 sensor. May not be it, or the only bad component. But, it's a good bet.

I see that now. I went to check mine right after the comment. SURPRISE! I guess everything will take awhile to get straightened out. I retract my comment....This time.
