Check engine light code 1003

Hi
I just got a 95 nissan maxima SE, 5spd. a few days ago and the check engine light just came on today, it has a code 1003. I looked it up and it says its for the PARK/Neutral Position Switch. Anybody know what this is and what it does and how to fix it?

When the gear position is in "N", neutral position is "ON". ECM detects the position because the continuity of the line (the "ON" signal) exists.
The switch is on the transmission.
