Climate control lights...
Climate control lights...
Anyone know how I can get the buttons to light up again or if it's even possible? Some of the lighting behind the buttons have gone out and the rest are pretty dim. Yes, I have the dimmer control set to the brightest setting. Any advice is appreciated.
It is possible, I did it a couple of months ago. You can buy the bulb at Radio Shack. I don't remember the part number, but I found it on this board so maybe you can search for it. It's a little incandescent bulb that replaces the one with the blue "condom" on it. The bulb replacement required total dismantling of the CC unit, though. It wasn't too hard.. just make sure you don't break anything (especially when trying to get the dial out). This all assumes you have manual controls.... I have no idea about the auto-CC.
Hope I helped at least a little...

Someone menti9oned that the bulbs may be loose. If you take apart the climate control, tighten up the light connections, and then put it back together, they may light up again. I'm in the same boat, too. My auto and econ buttons stopped lighting

There are 4 screws holding the center dash console in, the part from your climate control to your ashtray. To get at those screws you have to
a) on the bottom, lift out the shifter console, just pull it up. My car is a 5 speed, if yours is auto it may be different, but you pretty much pull up the shifter console. Get the ashtray out of the way, and the 2 bottom screws will be revealed.
b) on top, you have to pull out the center vents. To do that, you have to grab them and pull them in a down, and then out fashion. Be careful, the clips may break if you don't pull out correctly. Once you've done that, the 2 top screws will be revealed.
Unscrew all the screws and your climate control and stereo will come out. Be carefull of the wires you will pull out along with it.

4 bulbs, get them from www.courtesyparts.com
You should take the center console portion out to remove the trim panel. pop the AC vents out, the climate controls are attached by screws. Replace the 4 bulbs and you are in business.
Follow the directions of the Dwapenyi and you will be in business.

If you have the auto c-c, The part # from Courtesy Nissan is # 27545 - 1W600 . I think they are 2.50 a piece. I recommend you change all the lights, not just the ones that are busted. You dont' want to have to reopen it up again. The auto c-c has four bulbs, I'm not sure how many the manual c-c has. Hope this helps
