Good point , no argument here.
I got burned bad a while back on some Monroe struts, 2 for $275 horrible handling, the blown stock struts were better guess that's were I got 2 for 300 from.
good luck with a full set of Tokico HP's then

Sorry Buck ... I hope the laughing face didn't offend you ... I second guessed it after I posted, oh well ... it was just one of those top-level smilies that kind of fit the situation. I will try to use more discernment with my smily usage in the future. Thanks for your honest attempt to help me!
I did mean to refer to a set of 4 struts/shocks ... and honestly I do not know the difference between them. I thought they were interchangable words. Are the rears considered shocks and the front struts??? Can you explain the differences?
My "buddy" is not that ... I simply work for ITT, the parent company of Koni, and we get better than wholesale prices.
Since I am not keeping the car for too long I descided to go with the Tokico Blues.

Just be carefull of any struts you buy off of e-bay. I bought some KYB's AGX's off of e-bay. The rears were blown a week after installation. No response from they guy I bought them from either. Ended up getting more from autozone for less.

Can anyone answer this question?

Struts vs Shocks
As far as I know, a strut is a loaded member of the suspension, i.e. it holds the car up and replaces some component of the suspension, like an upper arm.
A shock is purely a damper and offers no structural support to the vehicle, i.e. there are shocks attached to the rear axle of most pickup trucks because the leaf springs are supporting the weight of the truck and the shocks are purely to damp out oscillations.
