Yes but since you have replacement axles you probably got ones for an abs car since they will also work on non abs models. It's normally to see those teeth.

I think it's safe to say that when your inner joint popped apart and then you somehow got it back in the metal retaining clip inside got damaged. I'd pick up a new CV, there is probably a warranty on that one.

I doubt you damaged anything, I screwed around in there pretty good also, it's not that easy. Again make sure the parts you are installing are the correct size. Is it possible that you got the wrong parts? Does the other side seem OK?

you think i can drive it back to the shop that installed it? it is about 20 miles south of me and i'd have to take the highway there i just don't want to wreck "worse case scenario" But why would it make a loud metal crapping noise only when i turn would the inner cv joint make noise in a straight line as well?

Probably when you are driving straight the joint is seated properly in the trans, but when you turn it pulls on the CV joint and it is not properly seated?

the noise is so loud it sounds like metal dragging on the ground but i'm not dragging anything could noise be created from the inner cv joint with all that grease and boot around it?

How about this, turn the steering wheel in the same position where you get the noise while driving. Jack the car up, put it in netural and turn the wheel by hand. See if you can determine where the noise comes from. Try this with the wheel on and off? With this noise being so pronounced you should be able to recreate it with the car on jackstands. It may not make the noise with no load on the suspension but worth a try.

^^ Excellent advice, allthough it probably is that axle that seperated, that metal clip gets fuxord when that happens, but just to be on the safe side do that, and yeah definitly bring it back to the place and see what they will do, eeven if they won't waranty it theres a good chance that wherever they got that axle from has a warranty on it so at least you won't be out the $100 or whatever.
