The last owner of my 4th gen was a heavy smoker so I have been dieing to replace the smoke covered roof panel. This would seem impossible, without removing the windshield or back window. But I manged to do it, I kind of felt like a magician after wards

so here is how the trick is done.

1. first remove, front drivers seat, the bottom part of the back seat, turn your e-break off and recline the passenger seat all the way, remove the plastic covers along the front and back windows. loosen the plastic around the seat belt adjustments on each side. Remove you center light and map lights and remove you sun visors and the 3 handles.
2. remove old roof panel, by folding it up.
3. Now get you new roof panel, and go to the back drivers side door. Point the front of it tores the front of the car and bend it carefully. It should be angled so that the cloth side faces the back seats. This takes some time, because it is very tight and you have to slowly bend it and push it through inch by inch.
4. once in the car, position it between the two seat belt covers first and then reinstall the other stuff and sun visors.

this took me about an hour and a half to do, but I had practice on removing the new one from the junk yard car. I will post pics of the finished product, when I have a chance.
