Need pic of trunk struts

Ok ... I have LOOKED but I am not having any luck finding a picture of the member who did the struts in the trunk. I would like to do this, as do many of us Orgrs .... so. Would the person who did this (or who can find it) please re-post and title it (Trunk Struts - PICS) or something so we all know? I (and many others too I'm sure) would appreciate it very much.

Sorry to start a new thread for this ... but can't think of any other way to find out.

Cheers all ... and Thanks!

Jim

Cheers!

I also did the same mod and can take pictures when I get home today. I personaly just used normal maxima hood struts that i got from a junkyard, while I was on the search for a pair that might actually stand a chance to hold my hood open while working on the car.

I love this mod and would highly reccomend it.

I have a video of mine opening for anyone who is interested here it is:

My brother posted how we did our cars trunk struts in this thread already made about how to do both aux inputs and automatic trunk opening.

My brother is euRo, here is the thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....t=trunk+struts

Hope this helps and it should answer most of your questions in there.

And yes just stock hood struts...

wow, that is really nice blackmax, but how did it differ between the mounting of yours and the mounting of your brother's? Your's goes up all the way and his halfway. I'm guessing yours was mounted higher?

Yeah, it looks like you just have to mount it higher..

Open halfway:

Or you an just leave the torsion rods in and use 2 bungie cords, like I did.. but the struts look a lot nicer and won't show like the bungie cords do.

^^^^ that is part of the point, but ... to be honest, I want to do away with the torssion rods .... thus eliminating vibration noise from the 10" sub I have back there.

Also ... why not do it? Saves space too~!~ I would like to mount my struts so the trunk does open with just the pull of the release, but if not .. tis ok too. As stated - I have no problem opening mine with my hand either ... but where is the fun in that?

Cheers!

Easily solved... put your stuff on the ground, then open the trunk.

actually, I see a very good reason for doing this. I don't know if it's ever happened to you, but some of my friends pull up on my spoiler to lift the trunk when they ask me to pop it. Well, there's a justification for this mod...no one touches anything.

Good point too.. I just installed my spoiler and already people are doing that though they'll still slam it by pushing down on the spoiler..

My truck screams when it opens. It's been like that since a rear accident.
Very good idea, I will do it!

I think there was a little confusion here, me and my brother (euRo) both share the same car, the other guy in that thread is some other member (aznsap), on the second page my brother posted pictures of where we mounted the struts. The other guy aznsap is another member that did this mod but his trunk did not open all the way like me and my brothers does, so we did this mod and found a way for it to open all the way.

Again me and my brothers pictures of ours is on the second page of that same thread that I posted.

Thanks
Stephen
