ok, new suspension but......

all new gr2's and maxspeeds with new strut plates and cushioner bearings and i also replaced the lcas about 6 weeks ago. so, short of doing an alignment, and the right inner tie rod having a little play, why the hell is the car still floating on the road when i'm driving it???? i know the shocks and springs have to settle in a bit but damn, its a better ride but it still feels like its drifting around a bit when i was driving down the interstate last night and felt like i had'nt done $hit to it except struts. anyone with this expierience or knowledge of this chime in. i'm gettin a little miffed by it. thanks>>>>>

It could be the springs. Some people have softer springs, and other stiffer. Theya ll have Maxspeed though.
Their quality control is not great. Their springs vary from good to crap. That might be an issue.

i had the same combo years ago, and i still recommend them as a budget option for those who want decent ride quality. i will acknowledge the possibility of low quality control since it is a budget spring. my ride stiffened considerably but was still comfortable. did you switch from stock or another aftermarket setup?

I believe he switched from stock. I agree that it's not a bad budget set up......but most people expect greatness on a low budget, and that simply doesn't work.

Do you mean floating ( up & down ) or wandering ( side to side )?
If it's wandering, the first thing I would do ( considering the work you've done ) is get the front end aligned.

I think replacing the inner tie rods will help your float issues a lot. You may want to look at the sway bar endlinks--but only if the car also pulls strongly on uneven pavement.

Also, I will assume you have already done an alignment. If not, you could take the time to re-center your rebeam and get a 4 wheel thrust angle alignment. If you look round, you will find a few posts about the rear beam.

I'd also get it done somewhere that specializes in alignments, not just an NTB or a tire dealer. Go someplace that doesnt fear lowered cars.

ok, 3 things i need to add: 1. i switched from stock and i might go for some different springs but they have to settle. but, there no worse than stock if you ask me or any better, just stiffer. 2., it sways from side to side and i was told that my inner right tie rod is a little loose and saw it for myself. i know that that can make a car float a little, also, when i did lca's i did sway bar links, came with new bushings and balljoints. and 3., i have to do an alignment yet, i was told to wait for a week so the struts would loosen up. and what the hell is an rsb??? please elaborate...... thanks for chiming in people

Why didn't you get the inner/outer tie-rods replaced while all of that crap was apart?

an RSB is a Rear Strut Brace

whoa dude, you're shelling out the cash to get an RSB, but don't wanna fully replace the tie-rods? Both cost roughly the same $$.

yeah, it's BAR not BRACE, sorry
