Codes 1001 and 0908

these 2 new codes keep showing up

1001 - no idea what this is can't even find a description anywhere.

0908 - this is probably related to the Coolant sensor, but am not 100% sure.

0707 - rear o2 sensor

if anyone's dealt with these codes or know what they are please help.

my car sometimes drops dead when idling. sometimes it does this sometimes it doesn't but its recently started and the codes just recently showed up.

its also having the hard start problem since the weather is cooling down.
i recently did the water pump, all 02 sensors, MAF sensor, starter, alternator, battery, tires... the 2 codes left to fix were 0304 knock sensor, and 1005 egr, ti left them because the car was feeling fine and didnt seem like immediate repair to those were needed.

recently 0908 and 1001 showed up and is now causing idling and start problems... the automatic shutoff at idle could be due to the egr code but i doubt it is because that code didnt do anything for the last 2 yrs... why now...

i'd appreciate if i could get atleast a description for codes 0908 and 1001 so that i'll know what the problem is related to.

hmmm i've changed the o2 sensor on the cat and the front passenger side, there is a 3rd one on the drivers side which i never changed... do o2 sensors cause the car to shutoff at idle from time to time?

there is also a noise coming from the passenger side of the vehicle and it sounds like the belt rubbing against something as it rotates... or the pulleys or something... similar to the noise when the water pump goes... but the water pump is new and the coolant level is perfect... is this because of the 0908 code... can the coolant temp sensor cause this noise? is the coolant temp sens. same as the thermostat?

thanks everyone for replying. hope i get more help.

k, i found 1001 in the stickys... its under 0901...
so the 1001 is for the drivers side o2 sensor that i didn't change.

but the question remains wether if this code will shut the vehicle off when left idle.

and since this sensor is corrupt, could this be why the 0707 rear o2 sensor code is back on, even thou i had replaced it recently.

0908 - still no reasonable expln. found

My cel just came on yesterday w/ 0707 (rear 02 sensor), found the info I needed in the stickies... as stated by ROCKART

.... and knowing mine is the after cat sensor, I'm not too worried about it right now and will change it when I can.
