My moonroof is dead....

Last night when I got home I closed the roof for the last time, almost. The roof closed but the right side failed to move up to the parked position. I've serched around and found the TSB on how to repair the drains and cables. I also found the part number for the repair kit.

Anyone have any helpful hints, tricks, or warnings for me before I make the repair? I know it's not rocket science, but sometimes there are things you can learn from others mistakes.

Been there, done that. Not a good time.

Make sure you have a full day to spend on it.

Remove seats, seatbelts from b pillars, rear view mirror, accessible sunroof hardware, a pillar trim (be careful with it)...then remove the dome light and remove the headliner.

The headliner will bend slightly, just be patient with it. It will crease ...but don't crack it.

Remove old sunroof assembly, clean it well and replace the bad parts. Lube it up well and put everything back together. Adjustmets to the roof and alignment will take some finesse and guessing but there are instructions around here somewhere.

With seats out, it's also a good time to clean up their tracks and lube friction points and maybe even shampoo the carpet.

Good luck!!!!

This post should be a good reminder to all to lube up their sunroof hardware...
