I'm 6'4'' and ive noticed that on any semi-long trip my lower back starts hurting like hell.i have cloth stock seats, and was wondering if the leather version is more supportive or not. the lumbar support on the stock cloths is a joke. will doing a leather swap make any difference? Otherwise, ill need to start looking into other replacements..

 

Im 6'3" and have no comfort problems with my leather seats.

 

yep, leather is stiffer but if your back hurts, it hurts. advil is all thats ever worked for me.

 

yea im 6' and jus took a 12hr round trip to iowa las weekend. no pain at all, tho ovbiously it did feels better to get out of the car

 

That's good to hear. So I'll definitely be looking into some leather seats. I might go for some 350Z seats or something.. I'm just on a student's budget so I can't spend too much.

 

Yeah i got leather, its definenlty the way to go, makes the long trips much more bearable.

Yeah, I use a soft CD case right now..

 

high chance theres no difference between the seats. save your money and find an ergonomic pillow for support or find an aftermarket seat that has great lumbar support.

 

I'm 6'2" and I have had back surgery . For me, the difference in my Maximas leather seats is less friction getting in and out and changing positions on long trips. My truck does not have leather and I notice. I would not personaly buy another car without leather.

 

I have leather seats and doubt that they would make much difference.

I recline my seat somewhat. That might help.

Also, take a break periodically and get out and stretch for awhile.

I'm not suggesting every 10 minutes, but perhaps every 2 hours or so on a longer trip might help.

 

The lumbar on my leather does absolutely nothing. I am 6'0" and I agree, the front seats aren't the greatest. Maybe G35 coupe seats in a few years.....

 

I had that problem, but I got some Bell Suede Leather seat covers and it is much more comfortable.(I have leather seats.)

The seats in my Z31 were the only seats that didn't cause any pain after 3+ hours, god I could sit in those things for 2 days straight for some reason.

 

i'm 6'3, I have the same problem. but I don't really think its because of the leather seats, my backs jus f*&#ed.

 

the cloth and leather seats are the same thing. start sitting in other cars and plan on replacing them with something that suits you better.

 

6'1" and no back problems with the seats

i noticed that Maxima brand leather (wahtever the f that is) is actually a lot stiffer and tighter than leather you would find in other cars. i think better quality leather (im talking in specifics about an 02 BMW 528).

 

6'6" and i just wanted to point out i'm taller.

i'm with sutter on this one. if you are looking for an upgrade look to other models/aftermarket. there is no difference between the cloth and leather seats besides the covering material.

 

Is that an excuse to get leather seats? You know they're all the same... I do find the headrest to be quite uncomfortable... They're too far forward, and you can only bend them more forward.

 

I have this same issue. I might just have to use a pillow next time. Good idea.

 

I have the exact same problem in my 5th gen, but I have leather seats. Wow, and I thought it was only us.

The 4G I30 leather seat has lumber adjustment (driver only), but it is not effective. The lumber support is also very poor. So it is not good for a long trip, i.e. San Jose to San Diego.
