V-AFCII - knock sensor circuit malf.

I installed my V-AFC II a few months ago per Jime's wiring. One thing that struck me funny was the knock sensor splice. Ever since then I have got a Knock sensor circuit malfunction error code. I went for inspection the other day and thought about it a little bit and realized the error code could be from that. It was. Does anyone else have this problem??? Where have you guys hooked the purple wire to? I haven't tuned yet so i am assuming cutting it the purple wire will not affect my car. PLEASE HELPPPP!!!

I would HOPE you didn't cut it as the instructions do not ask for it. When splicing any wire, you always open the door for more intermittent problems. So, just leave it alone.

no no...i didnt cut the max harness. Dont worry. I cut the purple wire on the VAFC harness. Thanks so much guys. Im glad there are people in the same boat. Why, in the first place, would it be necessary to piggyback the knock sensor circuit? Thanks again guys.

Only for monitoring purposes. it serves no real purpose. The only items you need for it to function correctly are TPS/RPM/MAF, and the obvious PWR/GND.

So what exactly was the problem?

And how did you fix it, I'm assuming the problem is fixed, since you thanked us?

consider me guilty for contributing to the offtopicness, but I've often wondered that too.

She's usually not that good looking, but I found a good pic of her. I think if it were up to her, she'd consider herself fat in this pic
