HELP!! Engine Light Wont Go Off.

HELP!! I took my mass air sensor off and started my car on accident, check engine light on. I did the code test and that what it said was wrong, so I went to my computer and did the clockwise, counterclockwise thing that is supposed to make it go off, and it didnt work. Am I doing something wrong. HELP HELP!! Brent

This is what works for me:

turn the screw clockwise all the way. Wait at least 3 seconds. Turn the screw anti-clockwise all the way. Done.

You have to do that at least twice in order for it to work.

My bad. Yes twice. The 1st time to "invoke" the reading, and second to reset it. I was thinking faster than I was typing. Just do what I said before twice and see if that does it.

When I did it twice it stayed on, and I even let it set for 2-3 seconds each time.

When I did it the wait of 2-3 seconds wasn't enough for me so I just waited for a good 10 seconds between each and that worked.

Wow. I gues the production tolerances can vary alot for the ECU diagnostic screw. I always wondered why tis a screw in the 1st place. Why not a push button or something?
