G35 Coupe Seats In a 4th Gen

Ok, I know this topic has been covered and successfully finished by sycefiro and i30ds but I can get my hands on a set of G35 coupe seats for a decent price and am wondering if anyone else has done it and what their input is. I know how they feel, ive been in a g35 coupe before, and I know the work needed to modify the seats to work.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=275370

My concern is the height of the seat. The stock 4th gen seats do not go very low to the ground, and I am afraid that the g35 seats will have the same problem. Do you still sit as high in the g35 seats as you did in the stock 4th gen seats? I know the difference between comfort and support is night and day but what about the seat height?

Thanks,
Matt

Have you actually sat in those seats? I had considered buying that car when it came out until I sat in one at a car show. Unless you are pretty small in the rear and hips, you're going to be rubbing up against all those controls they put on the sides of the seats. What a waste....especially for a coupe.

they've caused people back problems, but you'd have to check the G35 forum.

I've got the coupe and the seats are very nice Another options is to get some Z32 seats, those are also very comfortable and aren't going to be as heavy.

Good luck!!

Yeah that is my plan...to only use the actual seat portion of the g35 seats and swap the A32 rails and pans to the g35 seats. If I can get this guy to go lower than $500 i might consider the swap. $650 is a little pricey IMO.

Need to use the G35 seat pan as well.
650.00 is a good price for the leather G35 seats.
My Z33 seats cost me 350.00 and they were cloth. I later paid 600.00 for leather covers.

I removed my front seats and had them restuffed. Then I had the brackets connecting the seat slider to the seat rewelded and reinforced. Next the seat brackets on the floor boards were rewelded and reinforced.

Now the seats are more comfortable and have much less movement while driving.

The whole project cost $250.00 and I preserved my stock interior.

If I keep my Max I'm going to swap Z33 seats into my car. My interior could use an update.

When I swapped out my stock seats, I had found several broken welds on the seat pan, and there were several newer welds done on the frame rails. Was this a Nissan recall or TSB? My I35 seats were much beefier in the areas that the A32 seats failed, so it seems Nissan figured it out.

I don't know about any recall or TSB for the seats, rails or pan brackets. I just assumed they wouldn't be first rate and they definitely weren't!
