I30 hood on a Max?

Would it be possible? A hood conversion from a 96 I30 to a 96 Max? I reallize the paint is prob. different, but could I fit it in without body work? It looks like the grille inlet is the same size on both, so...

These guys have it for about ~$200 and chances are I can find a hood at a body shop or at my neighborhood auto dump for even cheaper.

In advance, the reason I want to do it is just that I think it'd look cool and it's a fairly original mod. If you haven't noticed the only difference in the hoods are the little raised/sculpted lines on the I30.

No, it will not fit on without major bodywork. The grill on the I30 is attached to the hood.

Sycefiro did an I30 front end conversion on his car.

in order to make it fit you would have to change the fenders and front bumper.
I really dont understand why you would want to change your hood to something that looks almost the same

An I30 Hood will NOT fit the Maxima.... Trust me.. Being there and done that.. (paid the labor$$ to take off the Maxima hood and trial fit the I30 hood.)

You have to change the fender, bumper, headlights, foglights and grille.. there is also the supporting metal holding the hoodlatch.. And you have option of changing the bumper inner support (if you really want to).

Thanks SYC and clee. If it's that much work then it's looking worse and worse in my mind. Just out of curiosity, SYCEFIRO, how much was the conversion with all the body work? I'm prob. better off saving for rims, eh?

LucentAUTO and Kashoggio, i'm not saying this to be an ******* or have the last word, but I did say why I wanted to do it... See it's right there in the third paragraph.

my point is that you thinking the only difference was that the lines of the I30 hood are more noticable , it would be worth wasting money on such a trivial thing

Are you coming to the Woodbury meet?
If so, you can park your car next to mine so you can tell the difference ^___^
