Heat wrapping WS y pipe to fix noise?

Does this cure the "bees in the can" noise? Ive seen some peoples max's with wrapped y pipes a while ago at the flex section.

Where can i get heat wrap if it does cure it?

Also, when placing the y pipe flanges/gaskets(rings), does the smooth round surface WITHOUT the opening go pointing down the y pipe or pointing to the headers?

(if you dont know what im talking about, when you look at the rings, one side is smooth, the other has a line down the middle.)

I have a WS y-pipe and I get a nice growl when getting on it. Thats my only performance mod so far to the exhaust.
