Will these tires fit on my 99 maxima? 245/40/r18
245/40/r18 tires and MODA R6 rims fit on my 99 maxima? WOW i think its love. lol
So i drove to Jersey on Sunday which included crappy weather, 1hr Detour, HORRIBLE Trenton roads, and car accidents along the way ( not me).
But i got there after it got dark and tried on these rims which made me just say WOW. lol.
I trying on the rims with my buddy along with enjoying some Coronas with the seller.
Only rubs when Making full U turn.
When i say full i mean turn your wheel until you cant turn no more.

more pix are further down.
Crappy pix because the only thing i had was a camera phone. And the weather was crappy.

By offset we mean +35 or +45 and such. Stock the Maxima comes with an offset of +45. If you have a 245 tire with an offset of +45 the tire will be too far in and might rub. If you have an offset of +35, +38, maybe even +40 the tires might not rub
The offset will basically push or pull you tires out form the hub.
For example, our cars come with +45 offset. I'm talking about the 17" Maxima rims, and such. The tires still tuck in a lil and people usually opt for spacers to make them stick more flush with the fenders.
However, you could just get rims with a +35 or +38 offset to make them more flush with our fenders. 300ZX, and 350Z rims have that such offset. It's the reason it looks flush with our cars. Different cars have different offset. Tjis is what works for FWD Nissans

offset is in mm. the box should say. I'm not quite sure how you measure, but I'm pretty sure the rim will specify in itself somewhere. As stated before a +35 should be pretty close to flush with fenders.
Yeah i never understood offset. I finally figured out on my own after studying diagrams
Basically the offset is the distance from the center of the rim to the hub of the rim, where it bolts to the steering knuckle Kinda complicated, but rims will always have the offset printed on the inner end of the spoke or on the inner lip off the rim. Usually ET40 or someting along those lines.
Basically the lower the offset the farther the rim is pushed outwards, so it would sit more flush with the fender. the higher the offset the closer to the body the rim is, so they will be tucked in.
rim width and height play a big factor in the offset, all shoudl be taken into consideration when purchasing new wheels/tires.
Now to answer your question. 245/40/18 Will fit, but the rim width and offset will depend. If you re 18x8 +45 you may rub in the front on full turn, it also really depends on the drop though, if your stock you may be okay, but if your slammed 2" + you will probably rub.

the rims I have on now are 17"s I don't know the offset though.
but when I look in the fender I can see tracks showing some rubbing on the side when I make a full turn. On the plastic that is.
This doesnt really bother me, but these Modas are 18"s

No significant rubbing, just the dumb plastic thingy. My OEM 5th gens even rub on that stupid thing.
I run 245-45-17's, (+45) Altima rims, with a 1.5" drop. With an OD of 25.68, they do not rub. A 245-40-18 has an OD of 25.72. IMO you are safe. If the tires have good tread, the rims are not bent or curbed, and you like them, they are a good price.
The offset is the distance of the centerline of the wheel to the mounting face. Negative offset is when the wheel centerline is more inboard. Positive offset is where the centerline is more outboard from the mounting face.
Negative offset is typically used on FWD cars to reduce precessional moment. This when the wheel start to move in a cone fashion. On the car, this is characterize as a wheel hop. Negative offset as well as a lighter wheel helps.

Damn your running 245's on a 7" wide rim?
When i was running 17x7's i was scared to run 235's.
Opps was posting of my friends account didnt realize
I didnt drive with teh 245/25/18 on the front because the back would hvae 225/40/18 <------- DO NOT GET THIS SIZE FOR the MODAS if u live where there is ****ty roads the mods will bend.
how wide is the wheel? if it is 7.5 the tire should be fine. but if it is 7 245 is pushin your luck. I have 235/50/17 on my 17 OEM wheels and they are at their max. so just make sure your wheels is wide enough. I only rub a little bit.
they are 8inch wide wheels. I ahd 225/40/18, 235/40/18, and 245/45/18 on them. The 245/45 fit up front on STechs.
Yeah did you ever find out the actual specs of the wheels...18x8 +35 or so?
Looks nice, were one of my favorite rims, too bad they are boat anchors. Something 28.6lbs or something.
damn thats bordering on dangerous. Honestly, i didnt even really like running 235's on a 7" wide rim. I guess the aspect ratio plays a role, but i imagine your running a 245/45 or 245/40. the problem with running that isnt wear issues its the tire breaking the bead and coming off during a hard cornering.

That is correct. My first set was 235's and wore great. So this second set I went with 245's. So far so good, no rubbing and no abnormal wear.

and they fit on the front to but i didnt drive around with them on there.
