white clock mod question
white clock mod question
ok i have used the search feature but it is not giving me a definate answer to my problem, ok you use red cellophane right?? i used it and it made my clock pink not white... is my cellophane too dark or whats the deal?? thanks
Why don't you try changing the cellophane first and see what happens with a darker or lighter red? Nobody know's how dark your paper was, or the quality or anything. How could we tell you the problem?

check it. it's a little bluer than it is usually must be because of the long exposure.

Well the illumination on my pathfinder hu is orange, and now I have the matching orange gauge cluster (Blends in nicely with the cel & abs lights, lol) But an orange clock and climate control would be the perfect touch.
I think I've got it though! If pink makes white, than orange will make........ ah...... orange?

a little off topic, but when you turn your headlights on during the day, and then if you cant see the readings on the climate control you turn the instrument panel switch all the way on to make all the lights in daytime mode, well, my climate control gets bright, but my clock stays dark. It will be bright without the lights on during the day, but at dusk when i turn on my lights just the cllimate control gets bright and not the clock, it goes dim....any ideas?

Simple Physics.....You mix Red, Blue, Green=White. So use red and blue cellophane
Actually i've never tried to change my clock cause I like green. I was just wondering if that would even work and/or to see what your guys insight on using two different colors of cellophane was.

i understand that its not going to get brighter than it is during the day, but it dims at night when the lights are turned on so that its not super bright at night. All i was asking was if the clock lights should follow the same brightness as the climate control when the dimmer switch is turned all the way up with the lights on.

Haha, thanks, allthough my Q still hasn't been answered, but here's what I have so far..........
R+G+B=White So, that means- R+B=White clock light, and since R+B=Purple, than Purple is the color really needed to make it white........ SO, I've got Purple + Orange = Orange clock.
But to avoid multiple layers of cellophane, all I'd like to know is what Purple + Orange makes!! because than clock light + X = Orange clock light.

Anyone know a good combination to make it red? I'd assume you'd have to use several layers of white then red, but I've been told it can be quite a PITA to match up.. I don't want TOO many layers, or the clock might be too dim during the day.
why don't you try some things out? Two layers of red should create a red light. But you have to find the right color of red to get red and not pink or another color. Do some work and see what you get.
you want to make sure to get this right the first time cause there is no goingback once you do it
