Got a new problem

well title says it all i got a 95 max with 35 swap 140k on car 40k on motor, mods: cai, custom headerback, eu, wbo2, and all the bolt ons..........ive got 3 codes but none of which r involved with this i had them before problem, no trouble lights on eu.

now on to the problem...really really rough idle dies if i dont gas it, huge loss in power, eu says a/f ratio is in between 10.s and 11.s!!!!!!! backfires bad when reving, hesitates, and another thing i did notice is my fuel pressure gauge reads about 20 - 30 psi higher for some reason and goes down about 5 when i rev it that has me worried!! i have since replaced plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump and nothing has worked i have no idea whats goin on i have no bad wires or harnesses that im aware of i dont have maf code so whats goin on could i have a bad or clogged up injector or something would that cause the fuel in the line to build up and make it read higher??

try putting some seafoam in the gastank and i would check your codes anyway, there are some ghost codes that will not light the cel but can cause a big problem, it definately sounds like a fuel problem or mayby a MAF prob, i would take it to nissan and a few other shops and say that you are shopping around for a mechanic to work on your car and ask them if they could see what is wrong and how much to fix it, they will usually not charge but i would ask them first, also autozone does a mil check for free, i would take it there at least and you never know, the fuel pump may be shot, if they all worked they wouldn't put warranties on them...

in other words....he has no idea so dont use Seafoam. Did this happen right after the engine swap? if not, do anything to it just prior?

You're probably flooding the engine running so rich. Lean it out. If it keeps stalling, check your IACV or at least open the idle screw more. You have backfiring and hesitation because of the massive amounts of fuel going into the car. Check for vacuum leaks. Make sure all the injectors and coilpacks are working. Get an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to try and lower that pressure. If you're running EU you should know that your AFR numbers shouldn't be like that. 13's is what you're going for

irrc fuel pressure is a little higher at start up, and whiles its warming up the car (car runs richer when the car is cold, to warm the car up faster).

If your starting the car and seeing 10 a/fs that sounds like the culprit there, thats a lot of fuel for idle. if your in closed loop the ecu should automatically be trimmed the fuel back unless your o2s are dead.

check you settings in the EU see if anything has been altered that should have been. your low A/F ratio sounds like the root of the problem.

Did you lean it out? If it was a faulty ground I would think something else wouldn't be working right. Check all your grounds if that's what you think it is.

Your fuel pressure is to high so....

Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator.
Replace the fuel pressure regulator.

on it possibly being the fuel pressure regulator. Make sure the EU has the right program running for the injectors. I'm not sure if you have upgraded ones or not but you are getting too much fuel.

double check it all, just cuz it worked for months means nothing now the problem is showing up. Have a cig and take your time, learn what each part does and how it works!
