Combination switch going crazy..
Recently i took off my guage in order to change out the 194 bulbs to bright green 4 led bulbs which look great. My buddy kept pushing down on the switch that controls the lighting and to switch low beam and high beam, I think its called the combination switch but don't hold me on this. When i started driving i noticed if i turned on the turn signal after i turned it would go back but instead of being a low beam it keeps going to high beam so i end up blinding people unknowingly until i check my guage to see the high beam on. It feels very loose and it keeps switching to high beams as it doesn't want to stay down where the low beam setting is. Any ideas on what happened and how i could fix this? Thanx ahead of time.

Yeah, i just looked at the prices from courtesy nissan, although they have like 30 types of combination switches and i don't know which one i need they range from $12-130. I have a feeling the one i need is $130 so definently going to check the junkyard when i get a chance, now i have to decide what is more important, this or a new starter because mine is going to go at any minute lol. Does it have to be from the exact same year and model because i noticed some of the combination switches on the site were listed for specifically on the 1996 SE which i have and some went all around, didn't know which switch did what though as it didn't explain much on the site. Or do i look just for intermentint wipers and fog? I am supposed to have foglights on my car but when i got it a few months back they were busted so i just took them off and am not planning to put them on anytime soon because i got other mods in mind so can i just get one without a fog and just make sure it has intermentent? Thanks guys.

Heh great, I guess I just wont be using turn signals for a long *** time because i definently want and need more important items. It still lets me use low beam as long as i dont use the turn signals or tap it, and if it does switch to high beams all i have to do is jiggle it for a few seconds and it will go back. Its annoying but definently not worth the money to repair it, at least not yet. Thanks for the help man, now at least i know what to expect with it. I might try to fiddle with it and see if that does anything.

Yeah, it works fine as long as i dont use the turn signals, but when i do use the turn signals it will just switch to high beams instead of low beam and all i have to do is jiggle it around a little bit and it will hit low beam, although sometimes it cuts out the left headlight if i don't move it to the right position. Its annoying as hell but if its costly as hell i will just have to wait and not use turn signals lol.

Yeah, i am definently going to put on new fogs way down the line but not anytime soon so i guess it wouldn't be a good idea to buy the stock ones because it would just be more money down the road. It's not a huge problem as it still works and i have to play with it every so often so i will live with it until i have the extra time and money to get around to it. My starter and full exhuast system is going to go on first before i even think about that though.

Lol well i can still use turn signals but if my headlights switch back and end up blinding him because they switched to high beams at least i can tell him that i used my turn signals. I don't really use my signals anyways heh. I just make sure i have a nice space between cars before switching because although im an agressive driver i never cut people off or be a ****.
