what's the best tire size for 17x8 rims?

I'm just curious, I see people w/ 235/45-17' or 245/45-17', I definatly don't want them to bulge out, I just want the sidewall to be vertical

thanks for the help

you should know, different tire companies have different tire sizes even though they call it the same size. for instance, a 235/45/17 made by pirelli may be a bit wider on the tread side, but less sidewall than a toyo of the same dimentions. you should get the shop where you'll be getting the tires to put one on the rim to see what it looks like before you make your decision. (but only try this with tires he has in stock!!! )
