Quick question. How is the rear Nissan emblem attached to the trunk on the 95-96 Max's? Just double sided tape or are there two little holes as well?

 

Its like some special 3m tape. If your gonna remove it you would need goo gone too.

 

Anyone have any pics of the rear trunk area with the maxima and nissan emblems removed?

 

whats your email ill send you pics of it. I removed the nissan emblem painted it black and put it back on and removed the maxima lettering permantly.

It is just attached with double sided tape. Just get fishing line and a heat gun and heat it up and then take the fishing line and saw it back and forth to cut through it. Then once it removed. The sticky residue will be left over. Take the heat gun and heat the sticky stuff up and then peel it off with ur finger. Then take some lacquer thinner and clean it up. It looks alot cleaner. This is my 97 without them but we also took them off my friends 96 and it looks much cleaner.

 

Looks good, but I almost like the look of the emblem better. I like the 97-99 emblem better then the 95-96. Could have at least kept the rear Nissan emblem.

 

its easy to take off...just like they said above. make sure you get the goo gone though to clean the surface after.

did you have to prep it somehow before painting?

 

Just sand it down with a higher grit sandpaper and spray away. Put a few coats of paint on, then follow it up with clear coat. Reapply emblems with 3M double sided tape and you should be good to go.

thats what im gunna do. i got a deep evergreen and im gunna remove the rear nissan emblem and paint the m a x i m a black and re apply. i painted the front emblem flat black to match the grill. havent put it back on yet but it matches nicely.

i'm sorry dude, lose the emblem ^^^^ it looks twice as retarded as the the smaller stock one. which i happen to like, i was thinkin about putting a 97 gle emblem on her too. probably not though.....

 

idk i kinda like the big emblem...not so bad looking ....kinda kills the clean look tho .....

 

It looks awkward in the picture, but it looks better in person.

 

Even though i dont like the large emblem, i think you should have centered it between the tail lights, its just too high and looks off.. i think if it was centered it would look proportional to the rest of the trunk...

BTW those rims must be really really heavy huh

Yeah the rims are real heavy but I still get 24 MPG. LOL. I want to get ride of them and get some light weight deep dish wheels. Thanks for your input on the emblem, I've been thinking of relocating it. LOL I also have the large emblem for the front, check it out:

When the car belonged to my brother, he had taken the emblem off the rear, intending to put it on the steering wheel....(don't know how he took it off). But it wouldn't stay on the wheel, so he threw it in the center console for a year. When it became my pride and joy, I put it back where it belonged. I just used super glue
