so i need o2 sensor and knock sensor....(just had it diagnosed)
is my car even worth fixing or should i just sell it?
i have 99 maxima SE 5 speed with 140k on it
the car still runs even though the acceleration is horrible and it hesitates really bad..but will i mess it up more by driving with those problems?
please someone give me details

Do the knock sensor first and see if the o2 code goes away. They can both be done in the garage but if not try to find a regional member that could help you out. NOT worth selling the car over.

yeah man two sensors go bad and youre considering selling the car? thats the wrong way to go about it. pick up the sensors here on the org or elsewhere and install them yourself. not hard at all. dont wait too long but get it fixed when you can. power loss and bad gas mileage will take its toll on efficiency. it's nothing to sell a car over though.

+1 for the ebay KS. It's no picnic to change but worth the effort. I could not, however change the upstream o2 sensors so that went to the garage....
The downstream sensor is a piece of cake.
Do more reading here on cleaning your TB & IAC and you'll never think about selling again...

driving on bad knock and 02 sensors wont do anything to hurt the car other than give you bad mpg and decrease power. an OEM ks can be bought on ebay for $65 and i would just go to autozone for a $50 o2 sensor. neither are really that hard to change yourself if you know where they are but atmost find someone near you to help you out. dont take it to a mechanic for something like this unless you have money to waste.
changing these sensors should help your acceleration problems. also if your car isnt worth $100 to fix, i will gladly give you $100 for your car

If you were near virginia you could make a drive here and id do it for free.. and thats what someone should do if they guy is willing to drive somewhere to your house. Show him how to do it and dont charge him anything unless you are wasting your gas... the first time i was shown how to replace a KS my mechanic did it in literally 2 minutes.

i dont know why it would be hesitating from KS and o2 sensors. poor pickup and performance is obvious, but the hesitation could be packs. either way, www.rockauto.com has 66 dollar KS in case you dont want to deal with Ebay. and you shouldnt pay anyone to do this for you. just find some girl or kid (someone with small hands/arms) to reach down under the manifold and undo/remove the bolt. that is the hardest part.

With o2 and KS bad... the car is completely useless. There is no point to keep it anymore... idk why everyones telling you to keep it. I would get rid of it ASAP! Problems will only build from here, and you don't want to deal with it. Having said all that ur car is probably not even worth $500 bucks. But your lucky if you want i'll buy it off you for $750 and i'll pick it up. Concider it ur lucky day. Let me know.

wow they must have just taken it off. i was lookin at it like 2 weeks ago when i did mine. then i guess ebay is the only way to get a KS for under 100 bux.

I found that the front O2 sensors were easier to change than the KS (my is '97). You'll need an O2 sensor socket (~$10). Bad O2 sensors lead to cat damage - may be. There is no recommended O2 change out interval in the owner manual, but at 192K miles, I think you should change them.

Replace the knock sensor, and the three O2 sensors, two in the exhaust headder and one after the Cat (I think that's where it lives). I've got a 95 with 155K miles, and if I don't get over 200K, Nissan owe's me my money back. Buy only Nissan parts, check the internet for the best deal, then buy. My $1K dollar starter motor converted me from any-ol-part will do to Nissan parts.

Other than that, everyone else has covered the important details.

dont sell a car over sensors. haha. thats a miniscule problem compared to the overall works of the car
KS - buy on ebay
KS harness - courtesyparts (online)
i had someone on forums install it for $20.. if theyre good with extensions it should be a 30 min job
check codes. still got o2. buy oem ones. you can get them through forums for a decent price. rather than going to dealership. a shop will charge you anywhere from 30-50 replacing it.
