Ya I put my car back together and this is all that is left from the engine bay:

I took out the air filter box/intake, and the transmission so I have a feeling it goes somewhere in those places.

Terrible picture, but the starter bolts don't have nuts on them. I would agree with dgeesaman, looks like a through bolt for a motor or trans mount.

Of course, there's no indicator of size for the picture either, so it could be an 8mm bolt or a 12mm bolt, can't really tell.

Can you take a better pic, Maximeltman?

is there any places on your tranny that looks like it had a bolt in it, i don't know what it could be other than the motor mount bolts, check out your mounts, maybe even your tranny mounts...

Well it's not an engine mount bolt, and it is 12mm...The engine mount bolts/transmission mount bolt are a bit heavier, and they don't use a separate nut because the just screw into the mounts which I think have the nuts already welded to them.

pmohr, that's the best pic I have for now...I'll try a better one but now I cannot find the bolt!

i can't figure out how to save a copy of the fsm and put it on here but if you have it on page 159 on the "AT" section shows a bolt looking similar to yours for the control valve, well that is if you had your tranny apart lol

what did you do with your transmission?

looks like a bolt for the transmission mount to the chassis.

Then I think it's the long tranny housing bolt that is located near the front of the tranny. It does not have a nut associated with it, but it has a lockwasher under the head.

no, this one is quite longer....maybe it didn't even come from my car. Oh ya, the car needs to be cranked for about a minute before it will start now, anyone have any ideas on why that is? (It's been sitting about a month, think old fuel? Would sitting around cause the pressure in the lines to go bad?)

What did you do, drop the motor or just the transaxle? Check and see if you have both of the starter bolts on......The only other thing that comes to mind is the bolt that goes from the block through the powersteering pump (the one that's hard to get to). As for teh nut, maybe for the top/bottom bolt on the TC motor mount. Is your steering stiff?

There is one tranny cover bolt that's twice as long as the others.

Dave, you're refferring to the skinnier bolt that goes right by the driver's axle hole right? I put that one in but I need to get it back up on the stands and see thanks. As for driving, she's doing that ok for now, so I'm not too worried. I did a total makeover on her: New clutch, Diff, Y, Cat, Rear Calipers, Clutch Line...I'm gonna enjoy driving for a bit before I get her back up. Besides, I'm babying her for now.

Bolt

Looks similar length to the bolt that goes through the alternator and the block (1 of the 2 attachments) That bolt probably wouldn't fall out on you because it's a son of a B to get in an out.

the long cranks I'd guess are a ground issue, the stock ground for the tranny is crap, and is often overlooked upon reinstallation/trannyswaps.

add a good couple grounds to the starter and tranny.
