I am either going to get a Turbocharger or a Supercharger. What do you think i should do. Which is better.

I personally like electric superchargers from ebay. They add like 200hp yoz.

Ok, ok, Im mean. Heres a decent synapses.

SC: Cheaper, Easier with Kit. Lower Boost, Not quite the HP.

Turbo: More expensive, put your own kit together. Higher boost, more HP.

But you still have to look at things like built internals like rings, rod bolts, etc...when boosting.

now im just a noob to forced induction but from what i heard, with turbo you are faster 1/4 mile but it's more wear n tear on the engine. SC is more consistent power and is better top end but parts and kits are hard to find... correct me if im wrong but this is info from a performance shop owner...

if you have to ask which one to go with you honestly are in no shape to do either.. There is a lot more involved than slap on and go.. Please do more research then ask what you don't understand. Thank you.

There are to many variables to say every turboed max is faster then every SC max. Also top end is different with TC dependent on what trim snail you have. Both TCs and SCs are going to put more wear on the engine.

With TCing you can control the boost easier then with a SC since SCs run off of pullies. But with TC you have to wait for the snail to spool up. But time of spool is also different with trim levels as well. A smaller snail will spool faster but will start to taper of in the higher revs and vice versa with a bigger snail.

SCing will have a more consistent level of boost but also uses power from the engine to spool it. So you could be running 10 lbs of boost but wont be making the same power as with a TC because you are taking power away.

Between the two SCs are going to be easier to get the parts and install then a TC. TCs need lots of custom made parts and such.

A turbo is more effiecient than a sc hands down. A s/c will be easier to put on if you can find the kit. I have a turbo and it cost me about 1500 for the install and parts. But will easilly cost more if you dont know how to do work or have so one do it for you. The question is cn you do any work yourself or are you having some one do it? Are you looking for braggin rights or just a lil more power? If you are looking for cheap power you can get N2O and bypass turbo or super. A s/c will wear a car more since its always on. You can stay out of boost in a turbo. Thats just my opinion.

You can stay out of boost with a S/C too.

I honestly doubt u will go though with a turbo based on the work involved and how hard it is to get the parts and tune it. You could always get a kit but they run in the 3-4grand area easy new.... This is not even labor included... And please have someone else do it and that knows what they are doing. Judging by u coming hear and asking this question is an automatic... Hire someone to do it... IT is not easy to do by urself even if u know cars or what not...

SC-ing is much easier and less to maintain... and cheaper. I would go with that if I were u... It will run u less then 3grand for a good setup with the V1 kit and a vortech.... Check out the Forced induction boards they have all info on this... and will give u around 270-280HP so about 230WHP with an SC.
