a 99 Maxima for $2700??

Man does this sound..............strange.
He calls it a "Maxima ES". I thought it was a typo until i called him and he told me it has a special V6 motor. it has about 340k km (about 180 miles) on the clock and is being sold as is. Still going to check it out. But uh.....sounds like a scam.

It's a trim similar to the SE that was sold in Canada. It's the same VQ30DE, but the seller is probably referring to the VLSD tranny the car is equipped with.

Man, I just bought a 97 SE today for $3700. It has 160 on it but has a rebuilt tranny at 120 and the guy had a mechanic replace a ton of stuff in the last 10K miles. I should get it early next week. I'm pretty excited.

in the stickies you can find out what an ES trim is...i dont know about a "special V6" though...But 2700 (Canadian???) is VERY low for a 99

"(In Canada there is a model called the ES which is like an SE minus the BOSE, leather, sunroof, and spoiler (All standard on a Canadian SE). But, it does include the VLSD trans.)"

That's a good deal. Were the mods done before or after you got it?

I bought my 95 blk/blk SE with all records, and all the gas records for the past eight years. It was already dropped on AGX/H&R, and a budget b-pipe for $1400. Oh yea, it was the motorvate maxima aswell!

I guess I can jump on the " I paid" wagon. I paid 7500(too much) for a 98 gxe auto with low miles. didnt like the color of the inside or out, but wanted a max so i go it.

I paid $3200 for my '97 GLE with 126K miles in July of 2006. Ever since i've replaced 1/2 the car and put almost $2000 in repairs, and it still wants more.

That's the only way I justified it. It has a rebuilt tranny, new struts, new cv boots, new plugs, new alternator, new battery, new tires, new CD player (which I'm removing) and is in great shape with all records and everything. There was just something about it that I really trusted, I guess just a feeling. We'll see, it might have just been indigestion.

I bought my 97 GXE for 2900$. No major issues except this clunking sound on the front left tire at the driver's side (something to do with the suspension, not serious I think) and an oil leak.

Hey you mean the actual car that the motorvate website used to show "How to"
that's pretty cool at least you see all the work with pictures. That was a good price.........too add to the group $1800 for a 5speed black 97 GXE with 116K took me a long time harrassing family member to sell me. Great car.
