has anyone had trouble installing nissan fast
has anyone had trouble installing nissan fast
ive been trying to download this but im having a hard time. when im at the setup everyting looks good but once the setup is finished it gives me an error saying ***The system is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications*** im running on windows xp, if anyone can help me out on this one i would really appreciated thanks
I also had a problem, so I re-downloaded it and was fine. I just was tired of screwing with it, so I figured I'd try that and it worked. Still don't know what the problem was exactly. But I have XP, downloaded it from Phatg20.net. I was also having problems entering my vin # at first, it was pretty frustrating. It would always tell me it was not valid, so I reinstalled the Maxima chassis extension again and it worked. Apparently its just temper[Mental].
Nissan Fast is the program the dealer uses to look up parts. Think of it as a FSM for part numbers instead of repair procedures. You enter in all the info about your car, ie: VIN, paint code, etc. then choose which portion of the car you are looking at, then you get the exploded view of the assembly with all the Nissan OEM part numbers. Like I said, it is used by all the Nissan Dealers.
You have to download the appropriate "CD" module for our American model A32 Chassis on top of the program itself because there are modules for British and Asian A32s. As well as the A33s, S13s, S14s, S15s, R32s, R33s, R34s, etc. etc.

I couldn't get the Nissan Fast program to work, and I know I did everything correctly; and with the download manager yada yada yada. Tried multiple times in fact. Darn program displays text 80% Japenese, and 20% English. Explain that one to me.....
Tried downloading additional fonts, font converters.....PM'd people for help and stumped everyone. You name it, I tried it. Gave up after many hours of messing with it.
I have Windows XP FWIW.

You are welcome guys

Who needs it? As I said before, it's user UNfriendly
BTW: new feature added to the http://nissan4u.com/parts/
Each part number is clickable so you can see the crossreference applicability of this part on other Nissan models
Here are the Nissan Maxima A34 front brake pads as an example:
