Is upper radiator support weld on?

I searched for a good bit last night and all i found was: "ive been in a wreck what do i have to replace", ""core support rust"(bottom), and I thought i was on the right track 3 hours later I went to sleep. So If anyone knows how it comes on/off PM me or reply please.

Yes sir it is right under the front edge of the fenders. There is a bolt on top and a weld underneath, the hood latch is bolted to the lower member

There is also a weld where the head light assembly meats the wheel well underneath the first weld

I got into a lil fender bender and my car (being lowered) took the brunt of the damage.

since the pics don't work anymore can anyone tell me how the got to removing the upper support? Angle grind the welds out or are there other simple alternatives?

As mentioned by someone above (I guess his picture links didn't work) you drill the welds out.

umm drill out tack welds?? I don't think you can drill out these welds. Tack welds and spot welds aren't the same. Its raining like hell so I just wanted to see if anyone knew

I'll just take a look before class tomorrow. From the sound of it you have to grind out the 2 tack welds on each side and remove the bolt.

My other question is does anyone know if the Upper support is the same for I30 and Maxima?

The tack welds you refer to must be the ones on the edges of a given panel? I found those would break quite readily with a cold chisel. Do the spot welds first so you create a gap between the two panels and then ram the chisel between the panels and through the welds. Is it possible the mount was replaced before?
