This thread is just a testament to the VQ engine, my goal when i bought my car with 140k was to get it to 200k. Im now there and I honestly believe if my auto trans. holds up I could see 250,000 easy. My engine does not burn a drop of oil, nor does it leak oil, only pwr steering fluid lol..
I was wondering just how many of you are at 200k? I also heard that the maxima engines don't require changing of the timing chains, is that true? Like I said im at 200,000 with the original t/chains.

Nah, no noise or anything really the only thing that's giving me a problem is the leaky power steering pump, but it's not that bad. Just stinks because it's leaking on the exhaust y-pipe. Sorry if this is a repost btw.. And no im not looking who has got the "highest" mileage.

I was talking to a friend about cars and he told me his Avalon has 205,000 miles and hasn't needed to change brake pads yet. Funny cuz I've gone through about 4 or 5 sets in the past 100,000 miles. LOL. Anyways, his Avalon does so well cuz he takes his car to the dealership for all the preventative maintenance stuff.

Our '97SE has 204K and change. Runs like a top. Outside of normal service items I've only had to replace the usual suspects MAF and starter. Zero oil consumption, one weaping transaxle seal other than that she's tight as a drum. I swear sometimes my wife drives it like a rented-redheaded-mule at the State Fair. A true testimate to the design and engineering folks at NISMO. I've got '91Pathfinder SE with 190K worth of trouble free driving as well. Is there any wonder why the domestic auto makers are in the condition that they are in. It's difficult to argue with results.

Great peace of mind to know we have reliable cars. The domestic automakers need to get with the program on building true reliable autos. Don't get me wrong there are some great cars made in the u.s. my uncle had a old chevy work truck that went about 300,000-400,000 before it got wrecked. But of course it drank about 2 quarts of oil a day and basically every bolt on part replaced about 3 times.
