car is a 97
starter doesnt crank at all. i accidently broke a small peice of the circuitboard for the leds and only 3 are working. would the led panel have anything to do with it? i just checked it again and the lights react to the remote. but no locking and no unlocking. the windows wont go up/down either. i put my dads battery in locking switch doesnt work

check your fusible link inside the fusebox. it's the brown one that says 140a its got a clear top on it and you can see if it popped. you have to separate the fusebox and unscrew the sides to truly get it out. they're like $6 @ an auto store.

car started. windows dont work. locks dont work. put my battery in and wont start again. not sure what it is it still wont start. checked all fuses. i get the feeling something is really wrong with it but to me this doesnt make sense.

yeah that happens to me when i remove the battery and take it in to get a new one. you just need to arm the car, then disarm it. try opening the trunk first with the key manually, then hit your unlock doors twice, to open all the doors. then hit the lock all doors, then wait maybe 5 seconds, and then hit unlock door. see if that does it.
if none of that stuff works, just reprogram the key. (you can check to see if the battery leads are corroded too. I spent a week working on mine, the alarm wouldnt respond to my key fob...turns out that the battery was just too corroded and it couldnt disengage the starter kill)

I've got a 97 as well you may be prone to blowing that fusible link. I had a 140a in there when I bought the car, I thought I could get away with a 120a fusible link when I replaced it, but it blew pretty quickly. With the addition of your aftermarket alarm, you might consider the 140a and double check if that's what is supposed to be there in the first place. Look in your manual or on the top cover of the fuse box.
Oh, if you have another day in the near future when the car doesn't crank and the fusible link is not popped, then it is most likely your ignition switch.
