why not get a new one?

thats easy, im losing no moey getting the one i can get.
1)My friends dad was a glass man for 25 years.(removal removal installation)
2)My other friend owns a tow yard. (they have a 95 and a 96 with windshields)
3)I was qouted 290$ for a new windshield with instillation.(So that could be 300 dollas I put towards exhaust, or as it will go to all the gaskets i need to make my oil leak go away, needless to say I'd rather not spend 300 dollas that could be spent somewhere else.)

Sorry if I took your post as a threat but I didnt ask an opinion I asked if they were interchangable. I'm sorry if I am an ******** but dude you don't understand everybody's situation. I am 19 in college doing everything I can to my cars while keeping my sister in a private school (she's 11) paying the bills, My mom and dads gone so theres no mommy and daddy's money. So think before you add your comment and I;m not saying in my case but for someone who doesnt have 300 dollas to get a new windshield with their own situation get that comment, it would be a stabb for them without you even knowing what you said dog.

Go ahead and try it.

Just don't pay for the donor windshield that you are removing BEFORE you remove it. I tried it on a free one and did not succeed. The problem is you must remove it without breaking it, and it is VERY easy to break. The one I tried came out beautifully, I thought, until my partner & I twisted it ever so slightly while carrying it away. The glass then cracked all the way across, starting from a small chip on the edge created during the removal process.

Even if it had not broken then, I'm sure it would have when we tried to remove all the old butyl sealer in preparation for the new install. Not worth it, in my opinion. Just saying.

well first of all this morning while brushing the crap out of my teeth in front of the mirror i thought i looked more like an angry coke addict rather than a dog....so dont call me a dog -- dawg

thats a touching story you have right there, but you should put it in your original post if you dont want questions like mine to arise, and hence my point, This was a question, and if you read it properly you would see it as a question where i ask: Why would you not get a new one......because around here a new one does not cost 300 dollars
