Power Steering Pump Leaking ...

I have a noticeable leak from the PS pump though it isn't dripping yet. I want to get it replaced before the leak drain the reservior.

The leak is on the pump itself, checked the hoses and it is dry.

Are there any specific non-OEM pumps recommended by org members and a writeup would help me get prepared for this activity.

I have opened a similar thread in the 5th gen forums, but I would hear more on the 4th gen since some would have already faced this problem.

Any suggestions would help.

Leaking through the case of the pump, or from where a crush washer is supposed to seal, or where?

Also, multiple threads on the same exact topic are frowned upon around here, and should not be done. If you want to address multiple generations, then the general forum is much better suited for this.

I don't mean to be a asssshole but then I opened a thread on the 5th gen forum and quickly realized not many on my gen would experience a pump failure. That is what motivated me to open a similar thread in the 4th gen hoping many more would have faced the same problem.

When I looked from the underneath the pump was all wet and what bothered me more than anything was it looked like engine oil and not ATF (the unique smell). Anyway, I touched the 2 hose endings and it was dry. I couldn't make a whole lot of the problem, I haven't yet seen the 2 alumunium tubing to be sure how the pump could be wet.

I am going to go under this weekend and spend more time and get to understand the problem..

I have the same problem dude, i opened a thread bout a week ago here. I got under my car yesterday and my pump is all wet with fluid, hoses are tight and are not leaking that i noticed. Pump runs quiet but fluid seems to leak all down the exhaust and all over the pump itself. I dunno i just make sure it's full of fluid about every week or so.

It has had a small leak for a long while but has gotten really bad the last few months. That burning smell from the exhaust is terrible but besides that i really don't even notice anything else.
