I recently installed a rf 6 disc in dash head unit out of a 03 xterra in my 97 gxe. It fits and plugs up perfect. Works great except for the fact that the speaker volume is weak and the reception sometimes seems weak as well.
I wanted to see if anyone had experience with this setup before as well as letting others know that it works.

My main questions are, do i need or can i use (not sure how it would wire in) a external amp to get proper power to my speakers. Also i have heard of antenna boosters, might i need one of those since the xterra wasnt equiped with a power antenna.

I havent found any info on this swap on the whole sight so hope i helped out some who wanted a factory in dash without going bose.
(btw it looks factory and WORKS!)
