Coilover questions

I'm looking at the ksport in the GD, but I'm still not sure if I want to go with them or not. I've read alot of mixed oppinions about the ksports. D2's are essentally the same thing right? The JIC's seem like the best option for coils, but also the most expensive. I'm trying to stay under $1000. I also want to be able to install them myself, in the driveway. I just want a set-up thats ready to slap in. Just tryin to weigh my options.
Thanks
MAT

well K sports are pretty much plug and play but you will need to take them apart first and grease up everything....that way they wont start making lots of noises and cause problems....also they shouldnt be having anymore strut blowing issues from the newer batchs...I have had mine for almost a year with only a small small leak from my pass front...

But If I had this to do over again i would most likely go for JIC or some Boss Chens....

That pretty much sums it up. Although I would add that if they are new, you wont need to grease them. After a while of being on, they will need to be greased, as it seizes, breaks down etc...

You should just contact K sport directly.

I want to see solid proof of ksports improvement on the dampeners before I invest any more damn money into these things. I wish I had gotten d2's you never hear problems with those. Boss Chens and Jic's are just too much money for me.

I have had mine since June and there seems to be no problems with the dampeners...I have a small amount of fluid on my passenger side front one but it was only a few drops...

I would ****s with the Teins

I have Nex SS coilovers on my car now though and they're pretty good. Ride smooth, easy to adjust, no problems.

i understand we can only get the basics, and i would prefer the different possible settings to be able to dial the suspension just how i want it.

IDK, to me I think the Basics are well enough. Im not using the Max for autox or anything like that that would require the need to adjust the suspension per track needs. To me its a bit of overkill to have the various adjustments for normal street driving.

I had Koni Yellows on both my Accords

U do most of ur driving on the street. 95% I assume. There's gonna be one setting that will work for that. Tein Basics are already set up for the street.

I'm curious how much of a difference the handling is between a good set of springs and shocks to coilovers...because seriously I am needing an alternative VERY soon, I think another one of my ksports blew and I'm just sick of this ****. I actaully do want to get into autocross though but like everyone is sayin, its a street car, that would be the majority of my driving.

Im not sure but will be finding out soon. Im replacing my AGX/Sprint setup with some Tein Basics. From what Ive read, many seem to be happy with the ride of them, and the abilty to go up and down will be a plus. I cant imagine they would handle worse then a strut/spring combo.

Teins finally came in, and with these they require you to reuse your OEM strut mounts. So I purchased all new parts from the dealer (through Dave B of course) which came out to an additional 302.83.
I could have transfered over my old mounts, bushings and etc. but Id rather have all new parts to complete the new suspesion setup. This way I know I wont have to take them apart again later to replace a strut munt or strut bearing.
So, total for my Tein setup comes out to 1083.34....

So the Ksport threaded struts fit JIC and Tein coilovers? Therefor by reverse logic, Tein and JIC struts fit Ksports hardware?

And of course they are going to say that they repair more of their competitor than their own...

Thats absurd.
First of all, Tein and JIC wouldnt warranty there products or repair them but K Sport would? Just doesnt make sense.
Also, it seems from what Ive read here and people i have talked to who have K sports on vehicles other then Maximas, they have all had struts blow, some more then once.
I havent heard of anyone blowing the Teins just yet.

i recieved an e-mail from jic today and there is a new a32 product available. they have listed an flt-fas system with an msrp of 1530.

highlights: lower price, total length adjustable, 10 way damenping adjustable

i'm fairly sure there aren't any in the us right now (last i checked jic didn't have anything for the a32 in stock) but if you guys are interested i might be able to put something together.
