For 300 you could get a UR UD Pulley which will help you out and also a short throw shifter. Between those two your three hundred should go a little further. Maybe also look into just taking a piece of pipe and making your intake into a cai. Cant hurt much and should only cost about 5 bucks for the pipe piece. It only has to last that day really.

- Reduce weight (1/4 tank gas, no stereo, etc)
- Short throw shifter (may help?)
- free flow cat (can't hurt)
- lighter wheels (borrow someones)

- drive downhill (this will definately help)

Good luck with your quest, if you break 14s that would be Awesome.

Correction for you D,

Dave and EJJ ran faster times based on the weather conditions. Correct the times if you'd like...you'll see that we both went faster, and Dave B had a MUCH higher trap speed.

And 1MAX2NV, well, he has an Auto, so he doesn't really count when you're talking about going fast NA

At most tracks that's not allowed.

Also, wouldn't the lack of backpressure actually hurt your performance?

addition of UDP gave me a gain from 97 mph traps to 99mph traps...and the 99 mph was last sunday with a 25 mph headwind!!! there was NO wind when I hit 97 mph.

Well you can take a gamble and try the UDP and you will have a few bucks extra. Should be able to get it to you and installed by the weekend. This would be an awesome true test of its performance! It might change your launch though... Try it! Please! If you get better than 14.2 Max UDP sales will sky rocket! You can always sell it if you don't like it.

Ghetto-rig a huge ram air tube straight from the front of the car to the filter... it's only going to be for the track, so no worries about practicality, water, etc.

Go with 205/60 15's or 205/55's, I dunno, prolly too much wheelspin with those sizes.

I thought 1MAX2NV had an auto. If that's so, I think a UDP dyno test with a 5-speed car is in order.

Aaron, this is what i would try.

wider tires up front for better grip if you can.

Use smaller sized rims for better acceleration.

Almost run your car outta gas till ligth comes on and put in about 1-2 gallons of racing fuel. Maybe add some octane booster on top of that. It wont hurt since its not something done often. Remove as much interior as possible. Maybe even put 2 donuts on the rear of your car since they are lighter (yes i know they arent meant to go fast but its worth a shto right?)

A STS might help too but it looks like you got your shifting down packedIf you ahve a RSB or FSTB, remove them as well.

REMOVE THE HEAD LIGHT IN FRONT OF FILTER AND MAKE A STRAIGHT RAM AIR/COOL AIR PORT. REMOVE ALL INTAKE RESINATORS IF YOU HAVN'T ALREADY. GOING FROM DOWN LOW WON'T DO MUCH AND THERE IS MORE DIRT.
THE AREA WITH THE MOST AIR PRESSURE IS AT THE HEAD LIGHT.

CUT SHIFTER AND GET A GOOD UNIVERSAL ***.

GET SOME TRACTION SOLUTION SUMMIT HAS THIS STUFF AND THEY GARUNTEE A .2 IMPROVEMENT

BUT ISN'T RAM AIR CONSIDERED FORCED INDUCTION.

YOU WILL GET AT LEAST A 13.9 WITH GOOD WEATHER.

Aaron, any updates?

I don't know if it's possible to shave .3 with a weight reduction! That has to be a serious weight reduction...

-take all carpeting out the trunk
-Remove passanger seat
-remove back seat
-take out the dash w/ AC unit, stereo etc..
-remove door panels
-Make a ghetto high flow CAI for the track use only
-Run out of gas until empty light comes on
-Get a Random Tech Hi-flow Cat (wouldn't hurt, and is also something u will probably want to do eventually anyways).
-Clean throttle body
-Do anything that might make your shifts quicker, STS or performance gearbox fluid flush
-Take all floormats out from inside
-Go on a serious diet NOW
-take off your body kit and send it to me... or i can come pick it up if u wish
-Drain window washer fluid or take out the canister
-Remove tailights and headlights

-Flywheel?
-Carbon Fiber hood?

Also, Synki got a good idea, throw some donuts on in the back. I would ossume u have 1, and you can find someone to borrow another 1 from. Also, maybe you should remove the FSTB and RSB since you are going in a straight line and they won't be of much help, besides, I heard the RSB weighs a lot???

In any case.... good luck man, sure wish you make it... but 14.2 is still freaking awesome. There are plenty of little power adding bolt ons which u still don't have, as u aquire them, you will surely make it into the 13s... Then start on some engine work, injectors, port and polish or whatever else... good luck

it's called a home depot intake! a buddy of mine does just that. he removes the K/N and attaches a flexible tube to the front bumper which he cut a hole out. the tube is reinforced with duct tape. if it's a windy day, tape a section of panty hose (don't laugh) on the opening to prevent debris from entering into the throttle body. with this ghetto setup he runs 13.5 in his honda civic hybrid. it's pretty quick for an NA motor. i'd like to run all motor like that in the max! but too much weight.

This thread has got me wondering, if theblue takes the advice of everyone here and does all that to his car, wheels, take off the hood, empty washer fluid etc, then he bangs out a 13.9, will that really qualify him as the fastest Max?? I mean he will have stripped his car to the point that its pretty much a go cart with a VQ motor.
