OUCHHH

Two days ago I was driving my maxima in 2nd gear....all the way to red line....when i went to shift into third i ended up almost at a dead stop in 1st. The car stalled, but started back up and i drove it back home. I started it up today and the motor is real jumpy at idle but seems to run okay in gear, also the clutch (1 month old exedy stage 1 and fidanza flywheel) doesn't seem to have as much snap as it use to. Anyway I think I fried one of the pistons, but I'm gonna go get the check engine light checked out tomorrow for codes. If anybody has any input as to what might be wrong (its prob more than one thing) let me know....If its too much work I'm gonna drop a 3.5 in

That mistake usually kills the oil pump, whether it be right away, 1 month, or 6 months down the road. Would have been cool if you were using a VAFC to control your vias because than we could see what you hit for revs.

So I just got back from getting my codes checked and heres what i got- code p1320-Ignition signal. And i also had a knock sensor code. I'm pretty sure the knock sensor code has already been on for a while, but I'm not sure what the ignition signal code means. I do know that the motor sounds like its skipping at idle and theres a little oil leak. I'm about to go find out where the oil leak is coming from now. If anyone has any input please let me know......i don't really have any $ for a new motor.

How do I find out what I hit for revs through the vafc?

You wont be able to tell now, since the car has been shut off since...but there is a setting to display the maximum RPM.

Ignition signal primary MOST OF THE TIME is a bad coil pack.

That had to hurt!

Just a quick and dirty on the revs:

67 mph in 2nd at 6500 rpm and what, about 35 mph in 1st at 6500?

67/35 = 1.91

1.91 x 6500 = 12440 rpm

Yours may be even higher with the VIAS. That’s serious crotch rocket territory. Does your shoulder hurt from the seatbelt?

If you don’t have one already an oil pressure gauge would be good to have if the oil pump or bearings give out.
