this happened before on one of my other cars. one was brighter than the other. I found out that the bulb was burnt, but not burnt out. don't know how that happened but i replaced the dim one with a new bulb and it went back to normal. when i took out the bulb though (dim one) it was like black but it was still working. First time ever seeing that. Hopefully it's or there is whole electrical diagnostics you have to do. *not fun*

one of your bulbs r probably newer than the other one, or not gettin the same power. replace both bulbs with new ones to see if that fixes it, if not, then its not getting the same power as the other side

ok,do this.....try switching the bulbs.put the dim one in the opposite side and vice versa, then tell what the results are. More and likely its the wiring(or something else) but not the bulb.

If you just got the car, i suppose it could be possible that the right side has been rewired to be brighter but not the left. Not likely because that would be a stupid thing to do but you might want to check.

you have installed the bulbs wrong, i did the same thing. you will notice that when you put your foot on the break the "bright" bulb will stay the same brightness. pull the bulb out and rotate 180 deg. should fix your issue.

Ya that might help. When this happened to my max the lights would both light up but when the brake was applied one was brighter than the other. Once installed a new one noticed how much brighter the new one was and changed both.
** my friend noticed it was dim after a few runs in his 07 mini s haha.

In that case it sounds like it's not the bulbs that are the problem. If the left side wiring has corrosion or a poor ground connection that could cause the bulb to glow dimmer. Try cleaning socket and check wiring harness connections.

I am going to scrape and clean to make sure. It is a major difference and the right is a distraction and really throws off all the lighting. Also I think it can burn out and lead me to more headaches.

u put the bulb backwards.....the bulb gets brighter when ur turn signals are on, but if you put the bulb backwards, its on the higher wattage all the time...usually people cut the higher nub on the bulb off to make it brighter tho.

Makes sense, does the bulb get dimmer when turn signal is turned on? Unless there is obvious corrosion it should not be an issue.

Further comparing one side to other I noticed that I had bought aftermarket rightside light that came fused one connection where stock OEM has 2 seperate connections. I threw out broken corner light with wiring which I need to go get at junk yard so my lighting will match to the low wattage OEM stock. Is there to undo or lower the brightness without going to junkyard to get OEM wiring???

Found answer just used electric tape to cover one of 2 nubs on bulb and the bulb brightness match stock. You can place a metal there for the opposite effect and bulb will get brighter. Thanks for all answers and advice greatly appreciated.

These bulbs are 1157s and thats not possible! Not without removing one of the nubs on the base.
