Mudguard Mod

I know that there are mixed reactions when it comes to whether or not to have the mudguards on a Max. Mine being black I dont think they look bad, I kinda like the look. If they're on any other color, they only look good if painted. Anyway, my question is has anyone ever heard of modifying the mudguards by cutting them a little shorter, kind of like how the 5th Gen. mudguards are? Looking at them I can see the 5th Gen. shape in them, but then it extends further down and tapers off to a thin end. I was thinking about cutting off the thin tapered part, leaving just the shorter, wider part. Any feedback on this would be appreciated, I dont want to start cutting them if its not gonna work.

I was wondering who and what you use to paint the mud guards. I'm assuming you don't buy them already painted. Also, won't rocks, etc. cause the flaps to chip really bad? Just wondering cause I have a Rosewood color Maxima. How much did it cost to get them painted? I think regular black might look ok on my car since I have black interior and tinted windows.

can't find my color

I have a creame/champagne type colored maxima and I can't find my color mud guard/flap anywhere....I was going to ask u guys where i can get them in special colors, but I see I may have to paint them...the reason why I want them so bad is because I saw a maxima that was identical to mine at my school wit teh same colored flaps...they were kind of thick too at the top but they looked so good wit his car, so I want the exact same color with mine...Black might not be too bad with mine either, especially since i have half black half chrome tints, but i would rather match my car....anyone know where i can get them at specific colors and how much they would cost? or how much it cost to have them painted?

I finally went to a body shop to get the Stillen Lip and Mud Guards painted. All in all it cost me $185 to paint lip, 4 mud guards and installation. The reason it is this high because I have Icelandic Pearl White Maxima.

Cheers!

Re: Mudguard Mod

I actually think that the mudguards make the maxima look better, but that's just opinion. also, it eliminates the dirt being thrown on the car when driving through rain
