You could've very possibly got something wet that wasn't supposed to..
I know the stickies Ive read on this website regarding engine detailing clearly states that you should saran wrap all electrical connections in the general area, as well as bag the air filter to protect that.
Otherwise you just coat it with some GUNK Degreaser and then use a slow stream of water and a brush to scrub at parts with alot of buildup.

FSM indicates the most likey cause for failure to shift from D1 to D2 is Inhibitor switch or Throttle position switch adjustments. I'm not sure where these switches are located. But if you can find them there are probably wires/connector going to these switches. Pull the connectors off and see if water got in there.

Start inspecting electrical connectors for water. Unplug them, look, blow compressed air, reconnect. I'd be looking at the TPS connections and the tranny connections first. Should take only a few minutes to check them all.

Ive never had an issue doing this. However, I cover my filter and sometimes started/atlternator. I also do not spray a lot of water. First I just mist it, then simple green the shiz out of it, then rinse enough to get dirt/simple green out. No more than needed.

I still have the same problem. It was running good for about 4 days then it happened again, i would start to drive and it wouldn't get out of first gear(automatic) then it would get out then it would shift really hard. I cant find the problem.
