Auto-Rx Question

Quick question:

I was reading the FAQ on the Auto-RX site, and says that they recommend non-synthetic motor oil when using Auto-RX. So currently I am running m1, and have been for the past 25k miles.

Do you guys suggest that I change my oil with some regular penzoil and add the Auto-rx. Or add the Auto-RX with my M1 and then change the oil 2k miles later.

Also does anyone know if adding auto-rx to the auto tranny would overfill it?

Thanks,

Justin

Run the dino oil in it just like they said. Get the cheap stuff because you're going to be draining it out anyway and there's no reason to go high grade on your oil when using it until you've gone through the full treatment.

How many miles are are your tranny though? I'm not certain I would recommend using it there if it's higher miles.

Currently my car has 125k miles on it.

I do plan on running Amsoil in the tranny sometime in the summer.

Nah, just put it in, and leave it for 1,500 miles instead of 1K. (I emailed them about that) If you've been using M1, you won't get a 90% dino concentration in there anyway.

I used Auto RX in my 1996 Maxima, and used their directions to a T! However I didn't notice anything different about my car. Snake oil?

The only liquid that should be in your crankcase is motor oil.

It's not snake oil by any means. On another forum that I'm a member of we had someone that was very skeptical of this product. He did a tear down of part the engine and took photos of the internals and showed how dirty they were and where the build up was. Ran the stuff through the engine and did a before and after write up. The results were as advertised. He wasn't a newbie either... was a long time respected board member and it surprised even him.

With 99.9% of the products out there, I agree totally that it's all BS products, but Auto-RX and Seafoam are both great.
