Seriouse Electrical Problem

HI Guys and Girls. Last month I had my car painted and installed a trunk spoiler. Last week I installed windshield washer lights. They were connected to my marker lights which they blink and stay on only when the lights are turned on. This week I had pads and rotors installed front and back. The day I had the brakes done my brake lights wouldn't work. I installed a fuse and noticed when the headlights were on the brake light would come on also. Now when I step on the brakes the radio area blinks, My fog lights come on when you step on the brake and if the car is off and the brake is pressed down it make the ringing noise as if the key was left in the ignition also the light come on by the shifter when the brake is pressed. Any Idea what this is? SOMEBODY ANYBODY PLEASE.

It looks like someone rewired all the wires the wrong way.. (Idiots!!!)
The washer lights should be tapped into the headlights or turnsignals, the spoiler light should be tapped to the brake lights..
Simple..
Go back to the place you had it done and make them redo eveything b/c somebody definately screwed up along the line......

Re: Seriouse Electrical Problem

did all of this happen after you had the brakes done? OR did you notice it after the brakes were done? there are a few things that could be wrong, 1) is a realy 2) is a shorted wire

if it all happened after the brakes take it back to the shop and see what they say....

if you have a multimeter.. get someone to apply the brake while you use a meter to test continuity between the brake wires and fog light wires. IE do an ohm test on the brake wires while the brake is depressed and then do the same test on the fog lights. there should be no continuity between the two.

if this is confusing i can describe it better.

hope that helps

I could be wrong on this but don't you measure wires with amps? Or maybe it was fuses!!!......... Don't mind me..

Hope you resolve your problem....

The problem started the same day the brakes were serviced. I didn't think about taking it back because I didn't think a brake job would affect the lighting. The trunk spoiler is connected to the brake light and the washer lights are connected to the side markers. I have an appointment tommorrow I'm hoping it's nothing sever. I press the brakes again today and the same problems.
