Interior restoration

I'm planning on putting $2000 or so into my maxima this summer and in addition to an oovi swap and suspension, I want to spend a little money on making the interior nicer. Alot of people I know have newer cars and I'm trying to think of ways to make mine have that new car feeling

My questions: Do you guys have any tips when it comes to renovating the interior? Are there any good sources for brand new oem interior pieces like door panels, steering wheel, and console trim?

p.s. I tried searching but didn't find much

For the steering wheel, you might want to check out www.leatherseats.com and they also have some nice custom leather seating options.

I'm getting to pieces of leather to fab up on the door consoles. I think that in itself would be a fairly easy DIY job. For the gauge cluster, I saw someone on the forum with some small round chrome rings around the gauges and that was sharp as can be, but I have no clue where he got them.

Console dash trim, ebay it. If you have a black interior, the brushed aluminum looks very sharp. Get the real stuff though, not the vinyl stick-on crap.

Thats a lot of money, but its yours.

You can paint your dash a newer or cleaner color, its not to hard. You can also get new ebrake and shifter boots that custom and an armrest to for 100 bucks. Those should be in the interior sticky in this forum, if not do a search.

you can also change you carpets. Don't know if there is a write up on that but do a search.

If you want new seats and door panels either get them from a part out on the org or ebay. You can put 5th gen seats in or G35 seats.

Just do a search for every different thing on the interior you should find a lot. The search function is why my post count is so low

Almost forgot about those guys. They can basically dip any hard plastic, metal, etc piece you want in a variety of finishes. I know of several people that have used them and they were all *very* happy with their work. If you wanted to put the money into it, you would be more happy with their work than *any* paint or trim kit you could ever purchase. Check out their gallery on their site for some examples of what can be done. I've seen the stuff first hand and even though the pics on the site are sharp, it still doesn't do it justice.

All work they do is custom so all their pricing is based on quotes. It's not as cheap as a trim kit, but you can't get the look they offer from paint or adhesive products. There's likely other companies that do what they offer, but Phoenix is the only one I have experience with and can recommend.

Post pics when you get it done! I'm thinking about either black brushed and possibly blackwood on mine. I've never been a huge fan of carbon fiber, but seeing their work in person, I'm seriously considering that as well.

Paradox, a sponser of these forums, used to sell those gauge rings for 4th gen maximas. They have since discontinued them and sold their inventory a few months ago. You could try contacting them to see if they could get a possible group deal together to make a few sets, I'm sure some people would interested. Depending on the price I may be.

Or you could look for someone parting out that has the rings but I agree they do look really nice.

Man, that sucks... but thank you for the info. Looks like they used to go for only $35 shipped. Not bad at all. I may give them a shout and if they're willing, I'll let everyone know.
