coilovers

i looked on the sitckies, noticed that either the d2's, tien, or kyb/agx combo are mostly used for coilover setups....saw these on ebay, has anyone ever heard of them or had them put on thier 4th gen?? IF so how is the ride and are there any problems with them/install?? just interested.

they are fairly new and seem to have all the features you would need. quality, as always, was a concern and i'm not sure what the verdict was. you can search for "nex coilovers" (which you really should have done in the first place) and get the info you're looking for.

lol haha nothing wrong with that...was just wondering. This is the first time i came upon these types of coilovers, and actually the first time i heard of NEX also, so it just brought up my curiosity on them, was wondering if anyone on the org had a set on and was able to input what they thought. I mean the coilovers look great, and there are just so many companies and types to choose from, i guess that this is another added to the list. Like i said maybe if someone already had them on they can update the suspension section in the stickies.

I haven't heard any complaints about Nex Gen coilover's. Alot of guys in NY are switching over to them from D2 and K sports. And they have redesigned the shock for more strength...

I steered clear of them because there wasn't a lot of info on them, and the price was almost 'too good to be true'... and you know how that works!

I am going to wait it out to see more reviews on Nex Gen and see if Megan Racing will come out with a set for the 4th gen( they should be testing on the 4th gen now or soon). If im not comfortable, then I will try the Cattman(if they make more) or Jic Fas $1500(renamed A1)

Ever ridden on KSports, or are you relying on what you read on this forum?

I enjoy my KSports, and they ride nicer than my Accord did on Tein SS-P's.

I have no complaints, and I see SEVERAL other guys using them too... and generally the guys whining about them are track guys, and we all know that I am NOT tracking a car on 20s... I just drive.

i'm relying on the proven track record of failure. i honestly don't see why anybody would buy something with such well known quality issues. ride is only part of the equation, any double tap, adjustable damper coilover should be able to ride the you want it too. build quality is what concerns me.

that being said, i'm not clowning you for getting them. do your thing. but referencing a lack of information vs. a product with a wealth of negative information doesn't make sense to me.

Here is an email I just received from importimagerace.com

I can get it for you as it's the same as the overseas model...

$945 shipped within the 48 states on the BR series

Here is the differences

Bc racing br series has a locking collar (which means when driven hard you
won't change ride heights/camber/wear out your tires like the megans and
apexi's will notice the 3 rings in the picture.

Also the 53mm damper, which is larger then the others for better performance

Regards

Josh

Proven track record of failure?

No offense, but I heed little of what I read on the internet unless I see it face to face.

People talk about busted struts and such, but how do they drive? Does anyone take into consideration that KSports might fail because of abuse insted of quality control?

You should look up Tein, they have a fairly good reputation, but try searching for failures related to Tein's.

I just don't buy into the babble of how they suck and this and that.

I got mine in. Disassembled them, had them gone over by a shop. Was sastisfied by the results.

Sure, they're bouncy. Welcome to coilovers. If I wanted a factory ride, I'd have a factory setup.

NEX's have gotten a lot of good reviews from my local friends in NYC. The only 2 complaints I have heard are: 1. No caster camber 2. Not dampening adjustments. NEX did release GT's for 4th gens that allow you to adjjust dampening, but they are obvioulsy a little more expensive than the ones where you cant adjust the dampening.

I think coiolvers are hit or miss, I had K-sports and had no problems. I've heard mixed reviews on every coilover from D2's to JIC's. Coilover generally require more maintenance than spring/strut setups and most people ignore this and complain about noises.
