a lot of free time + dremel

decided to make a switch panel for auto-x and track purposes. also played around w/ the climate control and changed the shifter ****. i will add a boot for it whenever i have time.

wired the o/d, high/low manual rad fan, speed limiter removal, and the DR with still keeping the WOT switch. (thanks tatanko for the tip)

i will make another panel once i get my hands on the suprastick whenever that might be.

know it looks like crap but it works

The switches are kinda ghetto IMO especially considering the upgrades you've done to your dash and shift ****. Lighted LED rockers would probably look a little more stylish.

And cool HU man, I used to have that in my Nissan Pickup. :-)

looks sweet! good luck on it!

just never really cared about listening to music that much. the radio did just fine but now i'm kinda getting annoyed b/c the display won't even work. yes, i'm a cheap ***

don't know how the switches look ghetto to you. i didn't wanna go w/ the cheap, giant plastic switches at radio shack so i got these at autozone. i think they look fine, whatever. the lighted LED rockers i wanted were absolutely expensive, nearly $10 a switch and they only had SPST.

i love the idea. So what mode were you in...post#2 2nd picture.?
DR activated, center off for rad fan, and speed limiter turned on

used to have one but that doesn't even work now. once i put the tape in, almost 90% it never pops back out, so i never use it.

yeh, its the same one u have. all the other ones didn't really suite my tastes so this was the best candidate. i'm gonna make a boot just for the shifter, not covering the prd21 display. basically what olezhka did for his.

I've considered switching back to having a PRND display, but I'm just so lazy that I can't make myself do it

I like the idea/concept but for some reason something doesn't look right. That frosted black plastic that g4nismo and kcryan use doesn't match anything OEM, and it looks out of place being an "island" (g4nismo has his surrounded by silver, kcryan has his surrounded by wood). Could you guys make silver/wood (respectively) panels instead of using that black frosted stuff?

Increased performance was a motivator there. What motivation do I have here?

the motivation is so that you won't have to explain to people that its not a true manual

You know what's sad? People will get in the car with me and I will drive around for a while with them in the car, and THEN they ask me if it's a manual. "Yes...it's a a manual. I drive in 4th gear all the time, I never shift or use any of the other gears" (referring to the fact that it sits in the D postion).

then they'll ask you what all those buttons are on your dash board. (referring to the shift_fast buttons). and you can't lie about them!!!

Thought about wood, i've got a ton of wood in my house, but none of it, actually scratch that, no real wood anywhere, matches the stuff in my car, the black might not look factory, but it gets the job done decently well, and looks better than having 3 plugs into my cig lighter. That said if anyone knows where i could get a faux wood piece real cheap, i might be intersted...

I'll see if i can get some updated pics with the V1, the concealed display, the radio and the light.

That panel looks real good...I'm looking to do the same for my car with 4 switches. The switches are going to be for fire dept emergency lighting where i plan on setting up one as a master switch and the other three to control front windshield and grille, rear window and strobes individually. I was planning on using a peice of arcylic and just painting it black but I'm trying to think of other possible options also. This may be a stupid question but what is the black plastic and where did you get it?

nah its fine. its just an abs plastic sheet that i got off of ebay. it was only like $12 or so. i got the 12x12x1/8 but now that i've done this, i would of gotten the thinner one, the 1/16 instead.
