PCV valve

I just bought the PCV Valve , its raining so didn't get a chance of putting it it. before i start the work i just want to ask is there anything in specific i should look out for while changing it. I did search but only found write ups.

Thx in advance :)

its very easy to change, there is nothing really to look out for except make sure nothing falls in the valve cover.

Did you get a new grommet? If not might wanna run and get one.

One of the guys recently posted a horror story explaining that he somehow poked his old (maybe the new one, I forget) grommet down into the intake. So I spose you might wanna be careful of that.

also, jus make sure u use a them long fine nose pliers and unscrew that metal bar right next to the valve to give u more room.

Don't let that rubber hose beat you. It made me mad as hell.

Thx guys, i just finished working on it and it wasn't bad at all.I just took the metal bracket next to it with all the hoses to make more room, everything went smooth. The PCV was all orange and black ,glad i changed it lol =)111.000 i don't think anyone did it before

I got the old PCV Valve off - np, but I can't get the new one installed. It is b**tch to get in. You guys that have done it before any suggestions? Do I install it with the rubber gromet attached to the PCV valvue or keep it in the crackcase. I got a new pcv valve and gromet from a nissan dealer and I tried installed both ways with the grommet on the pcv valve and the grommet on the crankcase. Neither work, the pcv valve will not go in. I tried twisting and pushing in and it just won't go in.

coat it with just a little motor oil or petroleum jelly.

Never minde.. I just got it in. I oiled it a little and pushed reall hard and it went in. Wow! that was crazy!

Very old pcv valve

I bought my maxima a month ago with 244000 miles on it. And it still had the original pcv vavle in there. I hope now the car will start running better with the new one!

I just recently replaced the pcv valves in all my 4th gens, just because it's cheap and easy and I figured it was good idea. Just one question: What does that little bugger do???

its for positive crankcase ventilation.
