power loss from 2k-2.5k rpm's

Hey i have been having a power loss between 2k-2.5k rpms under normal acceleration. has anyone had this problem? it is not a significant loss just a little bit. but noticeable if you drive 500miles a week like i do. it happens in all gears accept 1st and 5th. I also think my clutch is on it's last leg if that has anything to do with it.

any advice is helpful.
Thank you
Jake

Check if the clutch is slipping. Symtoms would be - Engine revs but car wont pull properly. This will be noticable specially in higher gears and up hill.

hey man you would have to be more detailed than that to really narrow it down to a handful of things

what does the rpm do when it looses power, does it stop or drop? is it a sudden jerk-ish loss of power or kind of a just not pulling feeling? is it all the time or intermittent? you know stuff like this let us know:p

It is not a slipping feeling but it just kinda feels like it isnt pulling as hard as it does before 2k and after 2.5k and it is a constant feeling every time. its not a huge power loss it is just a little bit.
I am pretty sure it's not a clutch issue but I said that to just leave it open

when I am driving it just pulls normal, then once I hit 2kit kinda slouches a little bit for 500 rpms, then it pulls normal again. it's kinda like really weak turbo lag but for only 500rpms. if that makes sense.

does it only hit for like almost a split second then theres power again? maybe coils or plugs?

I was thinking that I guess i will check the plugs today but it will do it the whole time I am between 2-2.5k

Is it any better when the engine is cold? (I don't mean freezing cold, just cooler than full operating temperature.)

I find my 97 gets noticeably weaker (never misfires, let's not get into tune up) in that RPM range when it is thoroughly heat soaked in slow traffic. My guess it that the intake gets hot enough that I have to open the throttle wider to get the same mass of air into it.

I have the same problem, check your exhaust (more specifically your flex pipe) might be a hole. Thats y i'm loosing power on the low end, my flex pipe is a mess but i have no time to fix it (screw auto shops)

I'm thinking coils or plugs need a changing...maybe a vacuum leak. How does compression look?

I changed my plugs today they had carbon build up on them and put in some ngk irridiums. I dont know about compression I would assume fine. but I want to check if I have a vacume leak but I have never done that before i just use a fog machine and let it go all over the engine and see if the fog moves in any spots? right?
