OEM Rim Swap...ftw?

so, i've been fantasizing about my 97 se wearing THESE RIMS...

however, the only thing i don't like about them is that they say infiniti on them. well...the infiniti logo. here's my question...will a nissan center cap fit in place of the infiniti center cap? i think it should be the older nissan logo, to match the rest of the nissan burgers on my car. (I.E. 1999 and older)

also, what size tires would make those rims as close to my factory specs so i wouldn't have to reprogram my speedo?

and while i'm on the topic, how hard is it to reprogram the speedo? and is that all that is involved?

Those are 18's right? Probably 225/40/18 or 235/40/18

OEM certainly FTW. I'm not sure about the center cap. You can probably find some Nissan ones and try it out. I wouldn't imagine them being too expensive.

I think if you remove the center cap and look at the back side you'll find that the logo is plastic riveted onto the cap where two plastic posts are melted to form flat heads that hold the logo in place. Take the cap off. If this the case, you'll see what I mean...

Anyway, I think what you can do is remove the logos themselves and replace them with Nissan grille or trunk lid logos. Scroll down through this thread... this guy has either done it or plans to. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=559610

Use this calculator to determine the appropriate tire size(s).

225/35R19 are the closest (Speedometer Difference: 0.425% too fast, Diameter Difference: 0.44%) but who the ***** wants to spend $1200 on tires, PLUS however expensive the rims are!!!1111oneone

yea they look great i agree. but the downside is that they weigh something like 28 lbs each. your performance will suffer greatly.

for reference, stock 15 inch sawblades weigh 16.1 lbs.

THose M wheels are 19"..
they look much better on a 5th gen..
on a 4th gen, 18"s should be max ( no pun intended) - but this is my opinion..

as for the center caps, as mentionned above, I did it to my M35 wheels http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=559610

but your center caps are different.. you might have to get center caps like these
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Nissan-59mm-Wheel...QQcmdZViewItem

which are the center caps for the 4th gen OEM rims and certain 5th gen wheels..

but for sure, OEM rims FTMFW!!!! :d

I've got 16x8.5 300ZX wheels with 225/50s on my 98 SE, they fill up the wheel wells a bit more and they were only $200 for a set of 4 in good shape!
